I am saddened to hear that another hero has fallen to such sensless violence. My nephew was taken a year ago this may 28th by gun fire from yet another coward. My prayers go out to the wax family for their loss. God has a special place for police officers, Though it be little comfort now, in time the pain will subside and all the wonderful memories will shine through. I wish that america could get to know these fallen heros as their families do, then maybe we would see less of these type of occurances. God Bless you all and rest in peace Lt. Wax.

I worked with Vickie at Baton Rouge Telco Federal Credit Union several years ago where she did extra duty at our branch. She was always a warm and friendly face there to greet us each morning. I have many fond memories of Vickie and I know she will be missed by all who knew her. My condolences to her family and friends, especially those who worked with her closely in the police department. It is a sad reality that it could have happened to any police officer.

Vickie, you will be forever loved and forever mourned. May God's Angels Always Follow You!

The coward that killed you is now in custody. I will always remember the hours we spent together working the streets, your thoughts, and your kindness.

He is coming like the glory
Of the morning on the wave;
He is wisdom to the mighty,
He is honor to the brave;
So the world shall be His footstool,
And the soul of wrong His slave.
Our God is marhing on.

I have read a fiery gospel
Writ in burnished rows of steel;
"As ye deal with my condemners,
So with you my grace shall deal."
Let the hero born of woman
Crush the serpent with his heel,
Since God is marching on!

He has sounded forth the trumpet
That shall never sound retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men
Before His judgment seat;
O be swift, my soul, to answer Him;
Be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.

Rest if peace Vickie, we have the watch and are marching on.

There are but two persons who protect the sinful human race from destroying itself. One is God's Holy Spirit. The other is the Peace Officer. Without them, we would all perish at each other's hands.

You were called into this profession and our Lord and Savior has blessed you because:
According to Romans 13.1-5...
God ordains the Peace Officer’s profession.
The Peace Officer is sent by God.
The Peace Officer is vested with God's authority to enforce the law.
A Peace Officer's badge is to be honored by us, because it is honored by God.

To the family of Lieutenant Vickie Wax and the Baton Rouge City Police Department, your extended family of Law Enforcement Officers grieves with you during this time. I pray that God will wrap his loving arms around each of you and comfort you during this most difficult time.

You gave the ultimate sacrifice for your fellow man, your life.
While serving, defending, and protecting others in your community.
Rest easy with our other fallen Brothers and Sisters, we have the watch now.

To all my brothers and sisters, please remember the fallen officers we have lost. Remember the men and women who died trying to make this world a safer and better place for us all to live in. Please pray for this officer's family, agency, and friends as they struggle with this tragedy.
May God be with you every day, please remember, we are a part of the largest family in the world and when one hurts we all hurt.

Though our badges and uniforms may be different, our mission is the same. We will continue the fight in your honor.

Today a Nation cries....... God speed to all that were close to Vickie. I know it is hard to really understand the events that unfolded on this tragic day. But rest assured we will hunt that coward down like the dog he is. God will judge him one day and Vickie will be sitting in the jury box.

God Bless

What a tragic end to a long career...My deepest thoughts go out to your family, friends, and co-workers during this difficult time. Just last week, I was in court for the trial of a suspect who tried to disarm me of my handgun. Of course, his sentence to non-reporting probation for 2 yrs. was a slap in the face(although attempting to disarm a police officer of a firearm is a 5 yr. felony in Michigan). I thank God that my luck in this case was a little better than yours. I wish very much that I'd had the opportunity to be there to help you on that fateful day. I would have either saved you, or fallen alongside you in my effort.

Thank you for your many years of service! Your bothers in blue will remember your ultimate sacrifice long after this week's headlines.

Lt. Wax was a mom to everyone. I worked with her in the crime scene division of the police dept. When i first came in she took me under her wing and showed me the ropes. When I needed extra duty work, she would find it for me, and even give up her own when I or others needed the extra money. I will miss her!

As I have extensive family in Baton Rouge and because of family resemblance, I suspect you are a distant cousin. Even if that is not so, your death has touched me. You are a pioneer for women in law enforcement and you so much deserved to enjoy a blessed retirement. May your eternal reward be perfect and may your family find peace and comfort.
