Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Sergeant Rodney Lee Davis, Jr.

I'm sad to see another one of us paying the ultimate price for a job we all love. To the Davis family and members of the Greene County S.O. my thoughts are with you during this painful time. You all can take comfront in the fact that every time I read one of these it makes me that much safer during my tour of duty. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way, so Sgt. Davis and the other fallen officers may have saved my life as well as others. I would like to thank them.

I drove through Greene County, VA, just last month and had been there several times in the past. What a beautiful area it is! This is what drugs do and are doing to our country and our society as a whole. GOD bless Sgt. Rodney Davis, his wife & family, friends, and coworkers at this terrible time of sadness and loss. May he rest in eternal peace and may his family feel the comfort of a loving God. It is left to us to continue the struggle and to live good and productive lives so that we may see him and all of our loved ones again. I wish I could do or say more ...

I'm so sorry.... As a wife of a deputy sheriff, I'm also the daughter of a slain police officer. I feel for Sergeant Davis' wife as well as his children. God will take special care of them. He made the ultimate sacrifice by sending His son and now Sergeant Davis' family has made the ultimate sacrifice. God knows and understands. He will carry them through this horrible time and the difficult times to come.

I lost someone very close to me. EOW 8-02-03, due to gunfire. My heart goes out to Sgt. Davis and his family and department. I know first hand of the pain that they are going thru. I am also married to a fellow LEO. and this just a reminder of how important each day is and how important each and every officer is that serves it's community. May God be with you all during this difficult time.

To the family of Sgt Rodney Davis..........My thoughts are with you at this time. We lost a wonderful friend on Father's Day this year. Vt Sate Police Sgt Michael Johnson was killed as the result of a vehicle pursuit. He left a wife and 3 small children. Know that your Husband joins a special throng of heros, watching over us all! Instill in your children how generous and special their father was. He will never be forgotten by many who loved him and those of us who didn't know him. Be brave.
