For the past four years, you and Kevin have been in our daily thoughts and prayers. With broken hearts and falling tears, we realized the pain and struggles you have lived with since this terrible and senseless tragedy.

May God grant you the peace and strength to continue forth living your lives, difficult as it most certainly is. Your beloved Kevin is watching over you from a more beautiful place than we can ever imagine. You will never carry this horrific loss alone; Kevin will never be forgotten.

As the family member of a special response cop, I just wanted to let you know how much your death has touched my life. I didn't know you when you are alive, but I often think about you and your wife and family and I realize on any god-forsaken given day I could be her. Your death has made me more profoundly aware of the dangerous and courageous (and unrewarded) work that special response officers perform every day they put on their uniforms. Thank you for making me realize how precious life is. I am sorry that you had to make the ultimate sacrifice, but I am thankful for men like you. People don't need to look to Iraq for true patriots and heros, they are right here in Michigan - every single day, working 24/7. We are all so proud of you!
