Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Trooper Kevin Michael Marshall

Kev~
The statue of you and the kids is finally in the park....Marshall Memorial Park. It's perfect. The day was perfect. What a tremendous tribute, to a deserving person, who had a life well lived. Miss you and love you always.

To Angie, Danielle, Anthony and the rest of Kevin's family:

As the dedication of Kevin's statute approaches, I hope you all know that he is often in his fellow troopers thoughts and prayers. We think of him and remember what a great friend, trooper, and team member he was. We all thought about him last month as another year passed by. As all of the pages of reflections show, he touched many people and continues to live in us all. His sacrifice will never be forgotten.

God Bless You All !

My husband just started at the 121st MSP Trooper Recruit School. I am so proud of him, and excited to see all he'll do as a Trooper... and yet I am scared out of my mind. I'm a dispatcher, I know the inherent danger of your job. But as I read through your story, and the stories of all those who went before you, I can't help but feel humbled by your sacrifice, and also proud that my husband will work along side men such as yourself. God Speed and thank you.

Help me here...please let me know what you want. I'm really in need of some guidance and peace with this whole thing. I know that you will come through and send a sign. Also, can you please keep the bad dreams away from Emma? Thanks!

I had Mass said for you today at St Mary's, I took your picture and shared it with those in attendance. I'm sure you, as well as Angie & the kids, felt the prayers. Five years of this is enough, From now on I'll have Masses said on your birthday. Godspeed You are missed.

Trooper Marshall,
Just taking a moment to reflect and honor your sacrifice. You are not forgotten, please know that. Rest easy.

On the 5th anniversary of Trooper Marshall's death, we honored his service in our patrol briefing by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job. Trooper Marshall is not forgotten.

Dear Kevin,

We think of you often and especially today. Five years later and you are still very much a part of our memory--and always will be. You can be proud of Angela and your wonderful children.

Kevin,

Kinda funny how this came full circle around to me about "him". I bet your up there just grinning about this and it gives me strength to carry on. The truth always prevails though, and I will maintain the high road as you had always done. Thanks for the strength, brother. And, quit laughing (hee hee). One day at a time. Lastly, you knew all along and had warned me. I don't know when I stopped listening to you, but you have my full attention now!!!

Miss ya ROCK!

I think that "worry" and "fear" are very natural feelings to have in anticipating the Academy. I know that it was the hardest thing that Kevin ever went through. To him, it was worth every second....and I'm guessing that it will be the same for you. Believe in yourself and believe that you can do it. Try to enjoy the journey along the way. It is a very special time in your life. You will make lifelong friends. Lean on them when you need to. You WILL get through it. Have faith!!
Best Always~

As the days get closer the more i worry about becoming a trooper.I know that the only one that needs to be impressed is me but there are a couple of guys that are counting on me to make it.There is so much that im scared of in the academy because im not a big guy and it is the hardest things that i will have to do...Well Kevin it's nice chatting with you and i feel that the job after the training is done will be rewarding.....Thank you

Terry,

Let Kevin always inspire you to always do what is right, and enjoy every day as both an officer and a person. I'm sure he'll be there to guide you when you need him.
