Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift
uplifting rush of singing birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
I am the flowers that bloom.
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing.
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there. I did not die.

REST IN PEACE BROTHER. YOUR SACRIFICE WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN.

POLICE OFFICER

It is far to frequent these days that we lose a brother in blue. All too often they have young children at home left to mourn their daddy or mommy. All my respect, Trooper Cogdill. May the streets of Heaven be blessed by your presence.

To our brother that gave the ultimate sacrafice,
Rest In Peace. May God bless and comfort your family.

ANOTHER BROTHER IN BLUE GONE, THIS IS REALLY SAD, MAY HE GO TO HEAVEN AND REST IN PEACE FOREVER GOD/BLESS

LT. JOHN FRANGOS
WALMARTSUPERSTORE, CRIME PREVENTION OFFICER,PINELLAS PARK,FLA.

Please remember the fallen officers we have lost. Remember the men and women who died trying to make this world a safer and better place for us all to live in. Thank you Trooper Cogdill for a job well done. Please continue to watch over us and protect us as only you can. You will forever be at our side and in our hearts.

For those of you who still have loved ones with us please take the time to tell them how much you appreciate and care about them.

IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything just right.

There will always be another day
to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear

Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

IT IS A SAD DAY WHEN A FELLOW BROTHER IS TAKEN IN THE LINE OF DUTY. OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE FAMILY OF TROOPER COGDILL. GOD BLESS

Anthony,

Tonight was a hard night. But tomorrow, I’ll be in the Gorge. It’s hard to think about. When I first met you in 1993, I never had any doubts about you and what kind of guy you were. I’ll miss the friendly ribbing and carrying on. Man, could you get Hiho stirred up! You gave us a lot of good laughs. For all that read this, pray for his family, Cody, and the guys in G5, they have suffered a lot in the past few years with the loss of two great Troopers, and even better men. Take care pal. We will miss you.

Rest in Peace Trooper.

I am sorry to hear about the death of Trooper Cogdill. People need to respect the risks that troopers take daily to protect us all, especially while making traffic stops. Police are our only protection from drunk and aggressive drivers, and it is terrible to find out that another trooper has paid the ultimate price. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and troopers of the great state of North Carolina. I am sure Trooper Cogdill has a special place in heaven for all that he did in the short time that he was here.

It's been 2 years now and another fellow brother is lost. It was hard for us here in WNC and now we will go through it again. I was hoping we would not have to go through this again. Our prayers go out to his family and all of the NC troopers here! So I will go now by saying go with the lord and all our fellow officers please be safe out there.

Dear Family and Friends,
Our hearts are so saddened that another hero has lost his life. Please know he will never be forgotten as you will not be forgotten either. You have a very large group of "family" that will stand with you as you endure the storm that is overwhelming right now.

The Final Inspection"

The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.

There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

May this officer always remain in all of our hearts, God bless.
