Daddy!
Things have been going pretty well..
Kevin is back at college again, and Danny and I are preparing for school. I've been busy with soccer tryouts and really wish you were here for support. I miss our little deals with every goal I scored..

Me and Mom went to COPS Camp for our 4th and final year there.
I had a blast like usual, its so fun seeing all my friends there.
It was hard saying goodbye to them all. I love being around them and the fact that we all are able to share the same loss. It's so easy to talk to them.

I miss you Dad, and not a day goes by that I don't think about you.
Keep us safe Dad! And watch over the other men in blue.

Love you,
Caroline

Mark's wife and family carry on with pride and professionalism. They inspire and help so many despite the weight of their own loss.

To all who read this, leave the website, shut down the comupter and go spend some time with someone you love.

Fellow Officer

September 16, 2005

My fiancé, Dennis McElderry, was the first law enforcement casualty of 2003. Dennis was a Deputy Sheriff with the Davis County Sheriff's Office in SE Iowa. Dennis died doing a job he loved, just as I'm sure Mark did. It saddens me to know that Dennis was not the first to die in the line of duty, nor will he and Mark be the last to die this way.

Having gone through the pain of losing Dennis I can truly understand and feel the pain that Sergeant Parry's family, friends, and co-workers must have gone through in losing him. My heart goes out to you all, especially to his wife. No one can truly understand the pain of our loss until they've walked in our shoes. Please know that my thoughts are with you and that you are not alone in your "journey". Should you ever need anything please do not hesitate to contact me. (Dennis' department will also always know how to reach me.)

As a fallen officer "survivor" and a friend, please accept my condolences on behalf of myself and the McElderry family. I never got the opportunity to know Mark but, I am certain he was well respected and well loved. Mark will live on in the hearts of all the lives he touched. You were all blessed to have been able to know and love Mark, even for a short time. I pray that Mark will continue to watch over us along with all the other fallen officers all as only they can.

Thank you Sergeant Parry for a job well done and for helping to make this world a safer place for us all. Please say "hello" to my fiancé Dennis for me.

Wishing you and all those who loved you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

Mark and so many other fallen officers have been taken from us needlessly. I comfort myself in thinking GOD needed all of you more than we did. The kids and I miss you terribly. It has been 3+ years now and it still seems like yesterday you were besides me-- I miss your laugh -- your guidance and your love most of all.
I have met too many other families torn like this; I am thankful our kids have their memories. Keep all the Blue safe!!
I love and miss you dearly.

It has been nearly 3 years since I received that dreadful call advising that you had passed on - you are not forgotten by the family in Canada for being a great father, husband, friend and leader
We are thinking about you frequently and know that Lynn and the kids are doing fine and miss you terribly as we all do

Mark God Bless

Mark,
It's been a long time buddy, but you are not forgotten. I still recall going to ballgames and hockey games together. You were not only a good father, but a true friend. Your kind words helped me at a time in my life that was hard. I only wish the best for Lynn and the kids. It's nice when I run into her at times. You are missed buddy, Thank you for being there for me when I needed it. I miss you.

Mark, it is now more than a month since your birthday, usually I post on March 5 but this year it was too hard. I am not supposed to be older than you! I am now a year older then you were when you were killed and taken from us..that is not right, not the way it's supposed to be, you're my big brother!! I think of you every day. Your children are doing great, even though they miss you terribly. Kevin is driving, Danny got accepted to Calvert Hall next year, and Caroline, your "baby girl" is looking so grown up and beautiful! Lynne is doing a great job raising them but you should be here to help her. We all love and miss you so much, Maria

I visited Gettysburg a few months ago, and it reminded me that Detective Sergeant Parry did Civil War re-enactments. He really is a hero and a legend, just like the men that he represented that gave their lives so long ago. Just wanted to leave a note that he will always be remembered, even by those who never knew him. God bless his family, fellow officers, and friends.

It has taken a while to leave some words here, but I think of Mark often and I am reminded everytime I walk in the white Marsh Pct and see his picture of the times we had and what he taught me and the respect he showed even to auxiliary officers. Mark and I shared a tragic event the Jim Beck
shooting, we both were awarded commendations for that and Mark always prasied me for my efforts..but that was Mark a great officer and a great person..you are greatly missed but never forgotten! I will always remember our midnights at the 9th.

Rest In Peace, My Brother

I WENT TO SCHOOL WITH MARK IN THE TOWN CALLED WESTBURY, NY. THE LAST TIME I SAW MARK WAS AT OUR 10 HIGH SCHOOL REUNION. I HAVE A PICTURE I TOOK OF MARK AND HIS WIFE DANCING THAT NIGHT. WHAT I REMEMBER THE MOST WAS, MARK WAS ALWAYS CHEERFUL PERSON ANYWAY EVEN WHEN GETTING CAUGHT DOING THING LIKE MAKING FUN OF SOMETHING OR SOMEONE. BUT THOSE DAYS WERE WONDERFUL TO BE GROWING UP, THERE WAS NO WHITE OR BLACK JUST KIDS WANTING TO BE KIDS. WHEN I SAW, MARK HE WAS SOOOO HAPPY ABOUT BEING MARRIED. I MEET HIS WIFE THAT NIGHT. BUT WHEN LOOK AT THAT PICTURE NOW IT IS SO BITTER SWEET. I AM SO SORRY FOR THIS LOST TO THE PARRY FAMILY. MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL. AND MARK IS OUR NEWEST ANGEL WATCHING AND SMILING OVER ALL OF US. Happy Birthday, Mark. You are 44 today. We only wish you could be here so we could celebrate your presence. I know your family, friends and co-workers are nowhere near the end of their grieving and may well never be. May God give those remaining the strength to go on with their
lives and make Mark proud. His memory lives on in our broken hearts.
God bless each and every one!

You gave the ultimate sacrifice. You may be gone, but you will NEVER be forgotten. We are all family in this job, sometimes we are the only family each other has. In pace requiescat, Rest in peace! Keep a watch on the rest of us as we go on shift each day.

As I viewed this site, what a wonderful surprise to see the kind words left by my brother, Off. Richard Kesterson. It only made me realize all that much more how great the brotherhood of police officers is, not only in a single agency, but throughout the country. Those of us who are married to (my husband is an officer as well) or related to a police officer know that with the love comes an amazing sense of pride in the service and protection they provide. I love and respect each of you who where that uniform and the pride I feel in your actions is overwhelming.

With the untimely loss of each officer, we each lose a part of ourselves. As long as I live, those officers will never be forgotten and their sacrifice never taken for granted.

Thank you for making my life a safer each and every day!

Sha-lom a-lei-chem. (Peace be to you!)

Mark, It is July 21, six months since you have left us. Not a day goes by when I do not think of you, that I do not listen for your voice over the radio! You are so very missed by your family, friends & co-workers. This is a testament to what a great brother, husband, father, friend and officer you were. You would be proud of your kids, they are really hanging in there. The boys have decided that they want to follow in your footsteps and join the county police department. They now have you for a guardian angel.
We love you always, Maria

It has taken me this long to be able to leave a reflection on this page. I never got the chance to say thank you for all that you did for me. You took me under your wing and showed me the way of a great police officer. I will never forget you! THANK YOU!!!
