Michael Donald Chihil

Constable Chihil was killed when his patrol car was struck head-on by a drunk driver as he responded to assist the Burton Police Department on a call. The collision occurred on Route 87 in front of St. Helen's Catholic Church.

Constable Chihil was the town's part time constable and police chief. He had only been with the agency for six months. He was survived by his wife and two daughters.

On today, the 50th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the USAF during the Vietnam War. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
