Sheriff Branch,

You now claim the unfortunate distinction of being the first in our profession, to make the ultimate sacrifice. For quite some time we all thought Constable Quimby was but as history continues to unfold, your contribution to God's never ending war against evil was revealed. I suspect that as time passes, others may come to light and will take their honorable place in LEO History as being the first. But for now Brother, we Honor you as your name sits atop of a long and distinguished list of God's Heros.

Thank you for your service and your sacrifice.

May God continue to bless and keep you.

Your Brother,

Sgt. (Retired) J. M. Appleby
Maryland State Police
