View all 430 ReflectionsCross, you will always be remembered as a great officer and just an all-around nice guy. I enjoyed working with you on Morning Watch. I'll never forget the time I got dispatched to a Signal 29/69 call with you as my backup. The incident involved a group of guys fighting with broken bottles off of Boulevard. As I began frisking these four bad guys, you stood there as my cover officer with a great command presence, looking tall and strong. It wasn't until I got to the last guy did I recover a loaded, snub-nose .44 cal revolver from his front right pocket. As I transported the perp to jail, I asked him if he had planned on shooting us or fleeing on foot. He responded, "Naw man, the other officer looked real mean and tough." I often wonder if I had a different backup officer that night if things would have worked out differently. Thanks for keeping me safe Cross. I miss ya man.
