Deputy Causey I know was a wonderful man, husband and father.

Deputy Causey cared deeply for his family, his community and how through his job he could serve and protect others. Through his love for his community and others safety he gave the ultimate sacrifice.

We are hoping his department, government entities and others step up to aid his family in the massive medical bills they left his wife and family with.

Tim was friend of mine as well as co-worker. He was always even keeled and did his job without hesitation. He was one of the good ones that you wanted in your corner or your back. Tim,
I remember from our days working together at the Horry County Police Department what a great Police Officer you are. I remember the days that I would fill in and work the Green Sea area and you would always lend a hand and share a kind word. I know that God took you from all of us here on earth, but God need you in heaven to walk the beat there. I know that you are looking down on all the officers here in Horry County keep them safe as you ride shotgun and back them up on each call. You are missed my friend and I know that God will take care of your family. Rest in Peace my friend.....

To the family and friends of Deputy Sheriff Tim Causey and to his fellow deputies:

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Tim died.

To Tim's family, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Deputy Causey gave to his community and the citizens of South Carolina, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on May 19, 2013.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."
