I was randomly watching YouTube videos, when I saw a news story about Officer Henwood. It's police officers like him, that help keep the faith that we are doing this job for reason, and makes me proud to be on this job. In a few minutes I'm going to get up and go in for the evening shift, I will be thinking about Jeremy as I complete my tour of duty. R.I.P my friend we got it from here.

I never met Officer Henwood, but we were brothers in many ways, we were both US Marines, and as a Police officer. Its a terrible tragedy for his family and friends, my deepest condolences to all. May you all rest in comfort knowing that Nicholas, is in a much better place now, a place where he is loved and appreciated. God Bless you all.

I just viewed a submission on YouTube that showed Officer Henwood purchasing a cookie for a child at McDonald's on the day of and shortly before he was killed in the line of duty. Officer Henwood's act of kindness toward a member of the community he served is the standard we should all emulate as police officers. Semper Fi, and rest in peace.

God Bless you and your family, Rob Henwood, for the loss of your hero son Jeremy. I heard the father that lost a child once say, "When we lose a child, we don't bury them in a cemetery, we bury them in our hearts". Having lost a teenage daughter myself, I knew exactly what he meant. Even though it's been 28 years since she was murdered, I've carried her with me everyday and will until my last breath.

You reached out to a kid you never knew and showed him kindness and provided him a role model. To shape a young life, that is a precious thing and what you did says so much about your character. That kid will grow up and do great things because you reached out to him the way you did. It is so tragic that you would be cut down moments later in a senseless and unprovoked attack. Jeremy was a Marine as am I. He was my brother regardless of having never met him. Like him, I too joined law enforcement following my time served in the U.S. Marine Corps. It saddened me deeply when I attended his funeral while I was in the Police Academy. It was one the instructors and academy who thought it would be eye-opening to attend. Having attended several funerals while in the Marine Corps you can never get used to the sound of TAPS. Jeremy was a wonderful person, Marine, Officer, son and sibling. He will always be remembered for his unselfishness. What is often forgotten to be mentioned is the fact Jeremy is seen on video footage moments before he is fatally shot. In the video Jeremy is seen purchasing food for a small child in line at McDonalds. Jeremy, you will be missed brother. Semper Fidelis and thank you for all you did and still do from up above.

While stationed aboard the base in 29 palms ca, I had the pleasure to meet, train with, and compete along side Jeremy on a competitive shooting team. You were a fine Marine officer, I can only imagine you were a great police officer as well. God bless sir.
