Reflections for Trooper First Class Kenneth Ray Hall

His Judgment Day:
The Trooper stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his boots were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Trooper, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church, have you been true?"
The Trooper squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the Trooper waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Trooper. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

His Judgment Day:

I was truly saddened when I heard of the accident and that Trooper Hall has passed away from his injuriew. I probably interacted with Trooper Hall when I was chief of Suffield EMS and also Chief of Windsor EMS over the years. I have the utmost respect for the Connecticut State Police for all the work they do. They put their lives on the line every time they go on shift. I have performed many EMS calls along I-91 over the years, and people don't understand how dangerous it is to drive at the speed they do while passing emergency vehicles or DOT personnel that are stpped on the roads doing their duty. My condolances to Trooper Halls family and to the Connecticut State Police for their loss. god bless you all!

Deeply heartfelt condolences for this beloved Officer's family, friends, and fellow Officers. Every time I see an Officer making a stop - no matter where it is, I recite a silent prayer for his/her safe completion of the stop. (even when it was my husband getting a speeding ticket on 84 a month ago). Words cannot express the extreme sadness of such a horrible tragedy. This Police Officer and his family will be in my prayers and thoughts and never forgotten.

We will all miss Ken's smile and sense of humor. As a new Trooper in Litchield Ken had sucn confidence and a gentle way of talking with people. Ken was a very powerful man with a big heart. I will miss his stories of his time in the Marines.
May God bless you and may you rest in peace.
