Your heroism and service is honored today, the second anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for solace for all those who miss and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

I just heard the news about the trial - I am elated! It doesn't bring you back but at least your family can now start to fully heal. I wish I could send a note to Shelly to congratulate and support - this is a very bittersweet time. Know that you are in all of our thoughts and prayers, and that you are missed dearly!

I just moved to Buckeye, AZ last may. NEVER in my right mind would I have been turning on the TV to see one of my higher ups I served with on the TV and passed away. You were a VERY intelligent man and I salute you to this day. I sure hope you wife, children, family, and friends have closure with todays judgement! Im still in shock and im sorry if I sound weird in this letter, but im sorry for what has happened. Im truly sorry you were not able to lead your legacy of leadership. Dont worry though, I still remember you yelling at me =) I hope where you are you can see you beautiful family grow. Im honored and proud to have served with you. I hope, if you see ABE1 Chase up there, you give him a high 5 for me!

Here we are almost 2 yrs later and I seem to be having more issues now than when you died. I see you in Bella SO much! I miss you!..Your smile, your laugh, your goofy sense of humor. I so wish things were different, Chris... Why did you have to go so soon? Your 30th birthday is only days away.. I guess you proved yourself right.. You always said you'd die before you turned 30, and doing what you loved... But I really wish you could have stuck around for a little longer...for Bella. Just do me a favor and watch over her... Hey Buddy,

Well a year has passed since you went to stand the Eternal Watch and so much has changed. Bekka and I are getting ready to spend our first Christmas as parents and Max is getting ready for his first visit from Santa LOL. He's really getting so big, so fast its amazing!! I'm finally finishing my Bachelor's Degree next month and am going up in February for my OCS board; go figure I'm bucking for Butter Bars LOL. It still seems so unreal to think that you are actually gone bro. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you, especially when on the road, and it seems anytime I'm talking with the old crew, we always seem to have a story that involved you while we were overseas or in training. We all miss you brother but we understand the reason behind your sacrifice. You really did touch a lot of lives while you were here and you mean a lot to many of us. I hope you are Resting Easy; I miss you brother.

Hey Brother,

Well Police Week has come and gone and your name has been added to the wall with the rest of our fallen brothers and sisters. It's in concrete now; I guess you really are watching over us for the duration from above. Bro you are truly missed; I keep waiting for you to pop up with that smart ass smile and have this be just a bad dream and worse joke. Sadly that will never come to pass. Mom and Bekka finally got the chance to meet Shelly and the girls on Sunday. We all shared jokes, memories, and most of all tears as the realization of it all set in.
