To the parents of Officer Mark Simmons:

I too lost my son also a police officer, this year in February. It is totally undescribable as to how horrible this is. This is the child that you brought into the world and you should be the one leaving this world before him. Doesn't always happen that way. I can say I know how you feel because I am in the same place as you. Others have no idea how to react since they do not know the pain.

Crying does help and whenever you feel the urge - just cry as much as you need. Talking about Mark will help too. I just never want anyone to forget my son so I love to tell stories about him to anyone who will listen.

Pray pray pray. And when friends tell you Hes In A Better Place, don't hit them. Just know that they don't know what to say.

I too live in Tx. and would be there for you if you ever need to talk. My email is [email protected]. I live in Snyder Tx.

Let God help you get thru this. I will keep you in my prayers.

Officer Toms Mother. Sue Miller.
