Officer Wood
My brother in blue, may you rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with your family, friends, and co-workers.

Trooper C.E. Johnson
Virginia State Police

Yesterday we buried Sgt. Dale Green who was shot and killed on 11/13/02. It's been a hard week. However, it is time for us to try to move on, but not before we share our sorrow with you. To Ofc. Wood's wife goes my heart and prayers. I obviously didn't know him, but to wear the badge meant he was noble and cared for the people of West Jordan. Law Enforcement has lost a son and brother. "His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." MATTHEW 25:21 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" TIMOTHY 4:7 Indeed you have Ofc. Wood, and may we all do the same. God be with you till we meet again.

Patrol Officer Andy Meresse
Tallahassee Police Department (FL)

My deepest sympathy goes out to Officer Wood's family, friends, and all of his fellow officers at the West Jordan Police Department.

No words can express the sorrow that is felt when a brave and caring officer, one who has served his communty with honor, goes down in the line of duty. I can only convey to all of you that you are in our thoughts and prayers, and that Officer Wood is now shrouded in the loving arms of God.

God bless you in your time of sorrow.

Captain Robert L. Van Pelt
Harris County Sheriff's Office

One more police officer died today, freedon come's at such a great price. While we share with your department the mourning of tragic passing of our bother in uniform, we are reminded that each act of courage -large or small- is not what makes us Heroes, but makes us all Americans.

With every passing of a fallen Officer we grow ever stronger with dedication to serve. Thank you Officer Wood for your example of our fiber. For we don't know how to say goodbye, so we will see you in another day. As we look to the stars at night, we see the refection of your badge so bright.

We know that God has a special place for the peace keepers. We vow to never forget your foot steps here on earth. Every night we burn the blue light, the blue light keeps you and others who paid the price in our sight.

God Bless your family & friends

To the family of Officer Wood,

My heart goes out to you. Being a police officer the mundane and routine can be the most deadly of situations. Most cops know this. Officer Wood died doing his duty and if there is nothing else, there is pride in knowing that. Our country and society are better places to be because of men like Officer Wood. No one knows this more than the families of Officers. God bless, my prayers are with you.

My prayers are with the friends and family of Officer Wood. Be strong through this time of extreme saddness. And remember, the Punishment that GOD will pass to the boy that took the life of Officer Wood, will be far more extensive than anything we could have given him here.

To Officer Wood- You are a hero in the lives of many and Your name will NEVER be forgotten. It takes a great officer to lay their lives down to make the Ultimate Sacrifice. May the good Lord Bless and Keep you.

And for all Law Enforcement Officers out there...Please stay safe. And be careful!
