FOREVER etched in my mind is the image of you flying that little old plane into Florence to meet up with me for lunch. Your smile was from ear to ear!!
The conversation the day before was that I said I'd thought it would be a little too windy and your quick comeback was "I'll be flying Stealth!"
I questioned what you meant and you said you'd fly UNDER the wind.
Little did we know that would be our last visit together. You, Margaret and I shopped all over Florence and had dinner together before you took to the skies again .
What has since struck me most about that day was you mentioning one of your favorite Bible verses.. "They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with WINGS as eagles....."
Morris, you got your HEAVENLY wings!!
How we all miss you (and your contagious sense of humor) but our sorrow is lessened by knowing WHERE you are . This old earth is about ready for CHRIST'S entrance back to reign eternal and then...THEN...we shall see and rejoice FOREVERMORE with all the saints!!
I KNOW you'll be there right along side of us!

Deputy Taylor,
You never knew me, but I recently drove by a roadside memorial placard with your name. After seeing that sign, it never left my thoughts. I became enveloped with a desire to know your story. Through a fellow officer, I learned the details of your final call for service and EOW. Although we never met, I felt deep sorrow over your loss. Since then, I have encountered folks who knew you and they all spoke of what a tremendous person you were while you walked upon this earth. You made the ultimate sacrifice and are missed by many. When I think of you and how you were taken from your friends and loved ones so quickly and unexpectedly, it makes me run back into the house and hug my wife and kids one last time before heading out for my shift. I cannot help but think of you and so many others who have paid the ultimate price to serve and protect their fellow man. I can only take comfort in knowing that you are in a better place and watching over us, just as you did for so many years down here. You are a true hero Deputy Taylor. Your are in my family's thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace brother.

Morris,

Especially thinking of you this week. We think and speak of you often. Zachary is almost 14 now, you used to rock him in my old rocking chair when he was just a baby. Kirstyn, who you took to Sunday school class because she was scared to go by herself, is grown and married with her first baby on the way. They have both grown up knowing what a hero you are, not just in Law Enforcement but in how you spread Christ's love. They know that everyone who met you saw Jesus in you. :) We've made sure that they knew that about Uncle Morris. Thinking of you this week and honoring your sacrifice. Love you Margaret and praying for you still.

I am Morris Taylors Widow. I am touched by Jennifers post. It gives me a better picture of His last moments here on earth. Oh what a sad day. I read it over and over to many friends and family. I could not stop flowing with tears. His heart was that he lay his life down for fellow man. He was ready to go meet Jesus Christ. We prayed the Morning He left and part of His prayer was ......Lord come quickly. He was always under fire for His faith so that being said made Him want to be with Jesus. The bad guy was the instrument to bring it to fruition. I pray Jennifer and your Dad and family that witnessed this... that the trauma you guys suffered is being healed. Life is ugly sometimes but if we know The Lord we will be ok in the end. I pray your family knows Jesus too. Consider this if not. Thanks you again. We love to read sad or not about our Hero too! God Bless! <><

Hi Morris,

You have never met me and it's unfortunate that you never will. I wanted to thank you for saving me and my family's life.

I was only 12 years old when I went on a road trip with my family for the first time. My dad drove for 8 straight hours before he got tired and decided that we should stay at Stardust Motel.

I woke up the next morning only to see dad slowly opening the door to check what the loud commotion was outside. That's when you screamed at my dad to run for cover and as my dad closed the door, that's when the gunfire started.

After what seemed like hours hiding and praying in the washroom for it to be over, I later found out that you and the gunman were both killed.

I'm turning 25 soon, and I just want you to know that I have kept you in my prayers every single year for saving my family, among the many people that you have protected in your years of service. I have never forgotten your bravery and I wish the deepest sympathies to your family and friends.

Thank you for being my hero.

~~~~Morris~~~~
I appreciate all the tremendous support you provided others as well as me.....my friend, when I was struggling with a heart breaking crisis in my life you had a big HEART and cared deeply about others esp. children , in many ways you were self sacrificing,dedicated for the good of man, you loved what you did and strove to utilize your gifts from GOD and it was your passion, thanks for all that! I remember meeting random people in the community even a woman at the nail shop who had a story to tell about the appreciation she felt when you intervened while working the streets in a way that resulted in her transforming her life .You were a gift for the world from the creator. I am grateful to have been blessed to know you and as are so many others whose lives you touched ,I miss you and Hope to meet up with you in Heaven.
