I am new to Law enforcement, and it is a sorrowful feeling having to wear a black band around my badge. It is a constant reminder that it can happen to me, or anyone else. Your passing is not in vein. It motivates me as well as many more to continue a service to our communities and our nation.

Even though I have never met you here on earth, I will when I go to heaven.I know that your now another guardian angel in God's Army, looking over not only your family, but your Law enforcement family

It never gets any easier learning about these officers who paid the highest
sacrifice. It is really hard when they leave young families, a wife who adores
them and parents who can't comprehend why they didn't go first. But after
reading several pages of these reflections, I rejoice that your name is written
in the Lamb's Book of Life. I wonder what new name God has given you. You
were chosen to be in His presence, He not only loves you, but He is fond of you and we know we can trust Him to take good care of you. If our faith is in Christ's sacrifice on the Cross for our many sins then we have the assurance
that we will see you again. Thanks for glorifying the Lord with your life!

To the family and loved ones of Deputy Morris Taylor, his fellow officers with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, and most especially to Morris:

On this the sixth anniversary of your tragic death, please know that you are honored and revered today and everyday.

From all the loving reflections left about you, I can see that you were an amazing man and what a grievous loss your loved ones have endured because of your brutal murder.

May your spirit continue to soar and your memory continue to inspire. You are loved and missed by so many. To Morris' Mom, I share your anquish in losing a beloved child, and know the pain is like no other. You are in my heart's embrace today.

Rest in Peace, Morris. A body is but for a lifetime, but spirits and souls are for eternity and yours is forever part of those who call you beloved.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Morris gave to his community and the citizens of California and Oregon, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on September 14, 2002.

Thinking of you and all of your loved ones today. I know the many broken hearts that feel pain every day since you were called away as I walk in their shoes. I know that your parents would change places with you in a heart beat so that you could be here. Watch over all of your loved ones and protect them from harm. You have not been forgotten.

I never had the honor of meeting Deputy Morris Taylor. But, I have seen many photographs and have heard many stories shared by Margaret. At this point, I almost feel that I do some what know Morris in a strange way. I can say, I too feel the sadness that Margaret has for the loss of Morris. I know Morris suffered and paid a heavy price for acting under the colors of the Badge. I too know what it is like to experience the the hostile enviornment of a law enforcement officer. When I look back on my past, I thank the Lord everyday that everytime I found myself in harms way, the Lord always seemed to find a unexplainable way to spare me. That alone confirms the exsistence of the All Mighty Lord. My father (Gilbert Aragon) shared these words of wisdom with me, "We all have an appointment with the Lord!" My dad's appointment has came and gone, and now he is with Morris entertaining the Lord in the streets of gold. I miss my dad just as Margaret misses Morris. Since Sept. 14, 2002, so many things have changed. Some good and some not so good. But,I do know this that I will take care of Margaret for the rest of my life until my appointment with the Lord comes. I praise Jesus every day for giving his life on the cross, just so I can have a true Savior.

We all miss Morris tremendously. He was a wonderful deputy, a wonderful husband, and a wonderful example of God's love to all who were privileged to have crossed paths with him. May there be many more law enforcement officers out there who shine the light of God's love as Morris always did. Your church family misses you.........but are blessed knowing that you are with the Lord and at peace. Margaret.......we miss you!!!

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

Dear Son:

This evening is Christmas Eve,you will be spending another Christmas with our Lord. One day we will all be together.
I miss you so much, not a day goes by that I don't think of you. I'm just so very grateful for the time that we did have you. I remember Christmas mornings, how excited you would get, that great smile of yours, would light up the whole room. Just want you to know that we are thinking of you.

Love,
Mom

Just stopped in to let you know that you have not been forgotten. I've decorated the exterior of my home in all blue lights and one of those lights has been assigned to you and will be lit every night until New Years to honor your memory and let you know that you have not been forgotten. Continue to keep watch over your loved ones and let them feel your presence so they know you are near.
