Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Morris L. Taylor

Your dad told me about you Morris. I had forgotten this odmp account.

I know your wife, mom and dad miss you.

God often uses a setback to move us forward.and Christ has replaced the dark door of death with the shining gate of life

Remember Christ was delivered for our sins that we might be delivered from our sins, and those who are prepared to die are most prepared to live.

Morris, I come back to this site and read all the reflections left by friends and family. Not only the friends and family who knew you in person but also those who knew you here.

I still think about you often and know you are in a better place, but still miss you deeply. Please know how blessed I am to have known you. I will always think of you. You will forever live on in all of our hearts and minds.

I bet right now you are looking down at all of us and smiling!!

I think about Margaret and your mom and dad, and know how they miss you. I pray for their hearts too!

Love always,

Donna

I was 17 years old when Morris talked to me about Knowing Jesus Christ.

I met him at my Hi-School and we had a good talk.

Morris talked about his life and about knowing Christ. He said if your life was taken here on earth where will you spend eternity. We all could be called out at any-time.

My parents are non belivers and complained to the sherrif' department about Morris.

September 2 05 Christ came into my life thanks to Morris. I remembered his comments to me, and will allways remember his smile and the way he conducted him self.

I am now serving in the US Army and I see many of my friends hurt and I lost 6 friends. to gun fire.

I tell all of my friends about Morris and the careing of others.

Morris was not just a ordernary COOP He cared about the people he served.

Morris will never be forgotten. His Ministry will continuue through me and others he touched in his short life.

We All Miss Him But Morris will allways be remembered His message will never die,his smile will be remembered by those who knew him.

Our Angel in Blue

It's hard to believe it has been 3 years since that fateful day.

In some ways it seems like it was just yesterday… Or maybe the day before.

Other ways it seems like a million years since we all saw your smile, that twinkle in your eyes or heard your warm laughter. Since we were able to talk with you about life, goals, problems, feelings or whatever was on someone’s mind. You helped so many people through so many different things. You brought so many people to the Lord, by guiding them in the right directions. You have earned your beautiful wings in so many different ways.

So many lives were changed that September Morning. Lives that will never be the same.

I don’t think anyone who ever crossed your path could not say that they were a better person for having met you.

Your Dear Margaret has sure shown a lot of strength and determination. She’s had to make some changes, we know you’ve been with her through those. We plan to be with her on Monday… We know you will be as well.

We Send Many Hugs To Heaven…

We Miss You #108

To the family and friends of Deputy Morris Taylor and his fellow officers in the Douglas County's Sheriff's Department:

I wanted to extend my deepest condolences to all of you for the grievous loss you suffered when Morris was so brutally murdered. His third year anniversary date is about three weeks away. His valor and bravery will be forever remembered. The loss of such a brave officer in this horrific crime must have been a devasatating blow to the department, and to the officers that were with him.

From reading the reflections, it seems that Deputy Taylor led an inspiring Christian life, and that his spirituality touched many around him.

To his family, I know they will be embraced by a circle of love and support from the law enforcement community and other police survivors. Our family lost our beloved Larry Lasater of the Pittsburg, CA Police Department when he was fatally shot on April 23, 2005 during a foot pursuit of two bank robbers. Our family shares your agony and we grieve for you.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Deputy Taylor gave to his community and the citizens of both California and Oregon, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made in the line of duty.

Morris,

My mom and I think about your mom and dad, sister, wife and you often. I just wanted to let you know that just because you are physically gone from this earth, you are not gone from our minds.

Love to you and your family,

Dep. Sheriff was a fine solider of the law. We thank him for his outstanding service which can never be matched. I pry for his family and his department as we all hold back a tear for the loss of a great man. Thank you sir.

These reflections show what a wonderful person, son, husband, Christian and police officer this fine warrior was during his time on earth. I am challenged to honor his memory and my Lord by the fine example of this mans life. A brief word to the fellow officer who shot and killed the suspect-my prayers are with you! Thank you for your bravery and courage in the face of death. You also honored your partners sacrifice by brining swift and sure justice to his killer! To the wife and parents left behind-I am so sorry and I pray to God will continue to provide you the courage to make it one more day.

Morris~

We all miss you... Today, Tomorrow & Forever.

We just had another officer shot a few days ago. Roseburg P.D. Officer, Joe Kaney. It sure brought back a lot of memories of that fateful day that we lost you. Of course we all hold our breath and pray, waiting to hear. This Officer is doing well and is now out of the hospital.

Our hearts are still missing you, #108.

Many Hugs to Heaven...

I never met you during your life here on earth, but during the 2005 Memorial I was honored and privileged to have met your wife, Margaret and your sister, Melissa. In conversation and having read other reflections of you here, I now know you and how much your family loves and misses you and how they always will. It is apparent you made a difference in the lives of others while here and I am confident you continue to do so as you rest with our lord. Rest well, 108

I met Morris only briefly. We spent some time on the phone and discussed working together on a firearms class. I visited the Motel in Curtin and contemplated the man we celebrated at his memorial. I'm now headed into law enforcement. I couldn't have had a better example to follow. Thank you.

Morris,

It seems so long ago that we have talked while parked car to car in the dark in the rain. I remember so well our conversations about your perseverance through your trials and conflict, while performing your sworn duties and following your heart for the Lord. You were a man among men and a Christian amongst church goers. Many agencies say police officers are the "Image of Penal Law and its warden...." You were that and more you were a man of the Lord and his messenger and you never hesitated to share his message. I hope that those of you who have honored Morris by visiting Him on this site, have gained strength to share the word of the Lord in what ever profession you serve on this earth. And Morris I thank you for keeping my thoughts focused on what is important. It goes with out saying that you are missed. But you are not forgotten.

Dear Lord. Please tell Morris how much I miss him and I feel so empty without him. I feel like it been so long and when I look at his picture I feel like I used to know him. I can't even put it in words.Let him know I will be o.k. and justice will be served for those who did not do their jobs. Thank you for the support all you friends and family. Love,Margaret

Dear Son:

It soon will be Christmas Day, needless to say Dad and I will miss talking with you. I spoke with Margaret this morning. She is doing pretty good, she was saying how much she misses you. However, we all know you are with our Lord and Savior.

We all love you and our hearts ache for you.

Love,
