I think the new I-85 - 385 intersection should be named after Highway Patrolman Lance Corporal David Travis Bailey.

David there's not a day goes by that I don't think of you. The friendship that you gave to me was 100% real. God took you at a young age that even until this our hearts hurt for the lost of not having you around. I will forever miss your friendship and the noise you made as you and I worked out in the gym. You were truly a great friend. Until God allows us to see each other again you're in my heart my friend

Just wanted to say I wish we were having a big surprise birthday party for you today, turning 40 and all the fun things that go with it!! But I will settle for the memories of the many things we did together and shared as a family. You left a wonderful example here on this earth of caring, loving, and sharing to all who knew you.
You are still missed and loved beyond belief!!!
Happy Birthday, David!

Remember me in quiet days
While raindrops whisper on your pane.
But in your memories have no grief,
Let just the joy we knew remain.
Remember me when evening stars
Look down on you with steadfast eyes.
Remember if once you wake
To catch a glimpse of red sunrise.

And when your thoughts do turn to me,
Know that I would not have you cry.
But live for me and laugh for me,
When you are happy, so am I.

Remember an old joke we shared;
Remember me when spring walks by.
Think once of me when you are glad
And while you live, I shall not die.

It doesn't seem possible that you've been gone 10 years. I've told my children so many stories about you, about us, about our childhood. I wish they could have known you.
I wish things were different.

I love you, Brother.

Another died this week. It's especially hard when another SCHP officer dies. It's as if we relive that day again. We miss you still and know you're with us daily. I think just naming JT after you there is so much of you in him. He does the lady hoo call just like you! He has your humor! We love and miss you so much! Until we meet again...

I was in an accident on Old Calhoun Falls Highway back in 1997. My car swerved to avoid a deer right in front of Trooper Bailey. He stayed with me until EMS arrived to get me out. He was great in keeping me calm and still. I will never forget his heroic efforts to keep me stable until EMS arrived. God has another angel. May he rest in peace. We will all someday be reunited.

Rest in peace my friend, it was always a joy to work with you, you kept us busy and on our toes. You always had a smile and kind word for us when you came in at the end of your shift. Thank you for the service you gave us each & every day. It was an honor to have known you and worked with you.
