Lord God of unfailing love, to those families in our beloved nation, the United States of America, who are suffering in the wake of the loss of a law enforcement family member, help us to provide support. Allow us to be their rock and fortress in a time of immense pain and uncertainty. Help us to keep them safe and nourished in their time of grief, suffering beside them as we move toward healing and reconciliation. Lord God, in Your compassionate mercy, hear my prayer. In Christ Jesus, Your beloved Son, and by His authority, I pray. Amen.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

I had the honor of watching Aaron as a teen. He loved his Lord and Savior and his wife and family. He served his community in many ways. He was such a remarkable young man.
Do pray for the times ahead for those that he loved so well. We all know with surety where he is, in heaven and probably pressing to find where he can serve.
He saved two lives in his five years with Indiana State Police. Both he was decorated for. With the most moving testament from the woman he saved in October.
While I know he is in the most natural place for him, my tears continue to flow. Oh thank you Aaron. You will be missed!

Dear loved ones of Trooper Smith,

"God works in such mysterious ways."
"This too shall pass."
"Time heals all wounds."

I don't think there is any one phrase to console you. With only sincere respect for you, I hope you will seek whatever is effective to support you as you grieve and help you from one moment to the next. Death is so personal; yet, ironically, you are not alone. Surround yourself with nourishing, loving people and activities. Hope for healing. Move at your own pace.

With warm regards,

Trooper Smith, our world is full of evil people and yet, you chose to put your life on the line just so others may live in peace and security. Our God, who knows all and sees all, will reward you abundantly. My heart breaks for the grief that your beloved wife is experiencing at this moment. May our Lord immerse you and her in His Divine Mercy. Rest in peace, good and faithful servant.
