No words can accurately define the pain and emptiness everyone in the law enforcement community feels at the loss of one of our brothers or sisters. I did not personally know Trooper Smith but I am sure he was a man of great integrity and was honored to be an Indiana State Trooper.

May God protect his family and comfort all of those who did know him well and loved him. Let us all never forget his sacrifice in service to the ones he swore to protect.
