O God of Peace, so many of our nation’s law enforcement officers who are on the front lines to protect us never make it back home to their families. We pray for these fallen law enforcement officers, Lord God, who gave their lives for us. We pray for the families of these heroes, who have to now endure life without their loved one. Lord God, society tries to move forward, but there is always bloodshed occurring. We approach Your throne of glory and grace to beg of You for peace. Lord God, bring peace to this land – the United States of America. We plead for Your divine intervention to quiet our hearts and unify our communities. Stop the violence that occurs amid our cities. We thank You for all the law enforcement officers who have died protecting us, and ask that You send an everlasting peace so that our law enforcement officers on the streets may be safe and return home to their loved ones at the end of their assigned shifts. In Christ Jesus, Your blessed Son, I pray. Amen.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [children] of God.” [Matthew 5:9 ESV]

Andrew was one of my soldiers while stationed in Italy. We deployed to Iraq in 2003. I was his squad leader. He was young and always tried so hard to impress me. He didn't need to. He was a damn great soldier. Our scout team was composed of only five men. You share a lot when your element is that small. A lot of tough times spent together. Andrew, you will be missed dearly. Thank you for your continued service sky soldier. Scout team uno/ HHC 1ST BN. 508TH INF. 173RD ABN. BGD. Fury from the sky red devil. See you again one day.

In a time that is hard to be in law enforcement- doing the job is ever more admirable. You tried to aid a victim and in a short few seconds a coward stopped you from doing what we are told and trained to do. Thank you for serving. My thoughts and love go out to your family, both those who serve beside you and those who expected you home!

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family, and the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

It is so sad to learn of the death of this fine young Deputy Sheriff. Although he has touched many lives in his short time as a Deputy Sheriff, now we unfortunately will never know of all the good that might have come from a long and fulfilling career in Law Enforcement. We pray for the soul of this fine man and for the Lord to send His angels and His love to comfort the wife and children, to grant unto them peace and to give them the resolve to remember their Deputy and say with pride: "My husband, my Daddy, was a Policeman." May the Lord smile upon Deputy Sheriff Peery as he takes the place that has been reserved for him beside his Fallen Brothers in the Honor Guard of our Lord for all Eternity. His wife and his children will surely see their Deputy Sheriff again, standing proudly at the Throne of God, when they themselves pass over into that Glorious Land. We pay also for the quick apprehension of the murderer, and for mercy from Almighty God as well as that the Lord's peace, instead of wasted hatred, will envelope the family of Deputy Sheriff Peery and all who mourn him. Let all who loved him take comfort in the words our Lord Himself when he asked of Mary: "Why do you seek the living among the dead." Your Deputy yet lives and always will. May his memory and our Lord always keep your Deputy near to you securely within your hearts until that day in Heaven when you embrace him once again.
