From your photo I can see how proud and happy you were to enter your chosen profession. It caught me off guard because it reminds me of myself exactly many years ago at almost your age when I began my time in LE. I am so sorry your young life was ended far, far too soon. I pray God has you, and that he bring peace, solace and healing to your family and your 'blue' family.

From a fellow Deputy Sheriff in the south, God Bless you Sir. You have done far more than enough and shall NEVER be forgotten.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

Even though the time has come to end the watch, they are still watching. Even though they are no longer with us, they are still teaching. The loss is new and the pain is great but we carry on for our family’s sake. Give us the keys, we’ll take over from here. Now is the time to release your fears. We got your watch, we’ll carry on, rest with peace my brother for your never really gone.
