Reflections for Master-at-Arms Mark Aaron Mayo

Rest your oars sailor.

All gave some....Some gave All This sailor has stood the watch

While some of us were in our beds at night
This sailor stood the watch

While some of us were at school or work
This sailor stood the watch

Even before some of us were born into this world
This sailor stood the watch

When the storm clouds of war were brewing
This sailor stood the watch

Many times this sailor would cast an eye ashore
To see his family standing there
Needing his guidance and help,
But he still stood the watch

This sailor stood the watch for NUMBER years,
So that all Americans could sleep safely, each and every night
Secure because this sailor stood the watch

I was stationed with MA2 in Rota, Spain in the same work section and he was a great Master-At-Arms as well as Sailor. He will never be replaced and will be missed in our ranks. Thank you for your everyday sacrifice for the country you loved and the cause you believed in, Freedom. Your name and memory will be carried like the waves in the seas in every MA that has been blessed to have known you and served with you. Now as you lay to rest know that we will carry you with us and think of you everyday when we don our uniforms. You are a true hero. Sweet dreams MA2, we got the watch.

So sorry for this young man's tragic end!! How sad and in despair his family must be!! Prayers for strength and peace to all. As for that crazy piece of crap who clearly lost touch with reality, we need to help the mentally ill more, because these tragedies continue to occur. A huge HUG to his Mother!!
