Officer Libke:

As a former reserve police officer myself I know that sense of duty and excitement you likely felt when you went on duty yesterday. You not only chose to serve and protect, but you chose to do so without compensation, apart from the knowledge you were helping to make your community safer. You went into a situation that many would run from, but you had the courage to face the evil of the world head-on. While I never knew you personally, I still feel as though I've lost a brother and know that the world has lost one of the good guys. I can only assure you that you were a member of the greatest family the world has ever known, and that your sacrifice will not be forgotten.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Oregon City Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother.

I didn't understand what the term "reserve officer" stood for. To know that this brave policeman was not paid and gave up his life, obviously doing something he loved, is to be commended. R.I.P. brave servant of the people... God Bless our family and my God be with them.

RIP Officer Libke. I admire Officers like you that reserve because they love the job even though a lot of times there is no pay involved. I did the reserve position for a few years prior to going full time so I can especially appreciate your position.

Most people would not have done what you do for a million dollars, Regulars do it for a lot less, and Reserves do it for free.

My heart goes out to your family, there is no resolve for such a loss as yours. Rest In Peace Brother.
