Chief Steven Marshall said it all. As a firefighter I work with great police officers on every call. I respect all those you put themselves in great personal danger every day. Detective Smith will be missed. My thoughts and prayers as well as prayers from my FD go out to the men and women of Jackson Police Department as well as Detective Smith's family. Jackson is a lesser place without you Sir.

My heart is heavy over the loss of Detective Eric Smith...I was familar with when attending High school together. I use to run in to him time from time in city of Jackson. The is truly greiving right now may God comfort us all...Especially Sgt. Smith his wife and their children. Jackson Police Dept you are in prayers also. RIP Detective Sergeant Eric Smith you are now 10/7 for the remainder...
