We remember the officers who always stood true,
Whatever the color of uniform, brown gray or blue,
With pride and integrity they say "To serve and protect",
For the giving of their life, we offer our respect.

We remember the officers who we never really knew,
Persons strong enough to answer the challenge are few,
With heavy hearts we mourn the officers in eternal rest,
There's more to these people than the badge on their chest.

Sgt. M. B. Coffin
South Carolina Highway Patrol

Rest in peace brother, we have the watch now. What a horrible tragedy to have served that many years just to be murdered on a traffic stop. God bless the family, friends, and co-workers of Master Trooper Walker in this time of loss. Thank you sir for your dedicated service to America and to the state of Virginia. No doubt you will be sorely missed. There is a huge amount of knowledge taken away from the troopers in Virginia.
