I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization.
As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
I have given my life so that others may live in peace.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.
You guard the gate now and I will continue my watch from above.

I'm sure most of us were hoping we would never have to come to this site and leave reflections for another fallen brother. I guess that is why they say you don't always get what you want in life. I know we sure didn't want to lose you. The world is definitely dimmer now. You were truly one of a kind and made your mark on this earth Matt. I didn't know you well, but I remember the help you gave to me and I will never forget it. It takes special people to give of themselves and you did. That puts you in my good guy book for life. I am truly sorry you are gone. My thoughts and prayers reach across the miles to you family and here at home to your CSPD brothers and sisters. May we all take a page from you book and live life to the fullest. Godspeed Matt. Gone but never forgotten.
