I am saddened to hear of any officer killed in the line of duty but especially the quality of officer you were. Although I never knew you, the love from those who did has shaken this county. Their cries from your loss are felt everywhere.

Female officers are few and far between. I aspire to be the calibre of officer you were. I pray for your family and fellow deputies that have to go on without you. I pray that god heals their hearts soon.

I've worked with Barbara for ten years at the South Precinct and she has been on my shift for the past three years. It is always horrible to hear of a fellow LEO killed in the line of duty, but surreal for it to not only be a fellow deputy from your agency, precinct, but your squad! Hours before we were just chatting at roll call prior to hitting the road. Getting there and seeing her condition after the shooting and then being involved in the take-down of the suspects after the pursuit, I'm still trying to deal with it all! The coward takes Barb out by basically executing her, but then begs me not to shoot him once he's cornered! Thank God he's not at large, but in custody. I pray the coward gets justice.
