A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Puerto Rico Police Department. Rest in Peace Brother.

Final Inspection

The officer stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shinning,
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, Officer,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"

The officer squared his shoulder and said,
"No, lord I guess I aint,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was rough,
And sometimes I've been violent
Because the streets are tough.

But I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep..
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
when the bills got to steep.

And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept an unmanly tear.

I know I don't deserve a place
among the people here.
They never wanted me around
except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
it needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't...I'll understand.

There was silence all around the throne,
where the saints often trod.
As the officer waited quietly
for the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, Officer.
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell"

I offer my sympathy to Jared Francom's family. My heart breaks for his wife knowing that she had to tell 2 little children that their daddy would not be coming home. That moment still haunts me from 5 years ago. I wish I had some perfect thing to say but I don't. Nothing makes it better. (including time) as I was repeatedly told. I am so sorry that 2 children will now have to live this life without their dad here physically. May god bless Agent Francom's family with strength to endure this life long trial. I send my thoughts and prayers this day to them. Thank you Agent Francom for protecting and serving and giving your all for us.

"I see the hurt you hide so well watching my soul set sail
A dreadful day we knew would come still the hurt I could not tell

I'm grateful for the time we've had
The laughter my heart made glad

But now it's time for me to go your heart will break I know
My body they did break as well life has willed it so

Take my hand and I'll hold you through every storm of pain
I'll be back soon one glorious morning come sunshine or rain".
