Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Richard Keith Bellar

I am the wife of a peace officer and mother of another. I know the fears that a wife and mother lives with each time her loved one dons the uniform and walks out the door. My prayers are with you and your children, Mrs. Bellar, as you try to cope with your loss. Please know that there is a nation of police officers and their families who grieve with you. At any moment, it may be one of us in your shoes. "But for the grace of God, there go I". May God's peace be upon you...

Carol Allinson
wife of Chief Robert D. Allinson, Cedar City UT Police Dept.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Deputy Bellar and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace.

Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage that they will love and cherish forever.

Keith, I'm sorry I was not there to let you know how much you meant to us. I am sure that all the prayers being said were heard by you and that you knew you are loved and now will be missed. We are the ones now who will suffer, for we will not see your smile when getting to the scene or coming out for duty. You join a magnificient group of officers who have already given the sacrifice of life from our area. I will carry your memory in my heart and will forever strive to better myself and community, so the senseless act that took you from us does not repeat itself. To my brothers and sisters of the emergency and police services in Dickson, stay strong and support each other through the days to follow and know forever I will care for you.

'I Was Never Alone'

Song written by: David John

“In memory of my son,
David Jr.1968 – 2006”

When I was lost
And filled with despair
The pain in my life
Was so hard to bear
Gone was my dream
Lost was my soul
But he pulled me out
Of the deepest of holes

CHORUS

And showed me the way
To stand on my own
In my darkest hour
I was never alone
He was here all the time
I should have known
He would not forsake me
I was never alone

When my world came apart
And my faith was gone
I heard a voice
That broke with the dawn
From somewhere it came
This some other hand
Reached out to me
Took this broken man

CHORUS

Rest In Peace Deputy Bellar.
