For Deputy Sheriff Suzanne Waughtel Hopper:

The response to the scene of where guns have recently been fired brings with it high risk to the arriving law officer. We regret tha our sister Suzanne would be the latest statistic involving a soundrel who would shoot down an officer on sight. While tragedy occurred, we rejoice in the actions of the back-up officers who brought the scene quickly under control. They have clearly demonstrated that we in law enforcement are one - forever.

We pray for Suzannes family, friends, co-workers and all who care about her. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.

I am proud to render Deputy Suzanne Hopper a final salute.

My husband was killed in the line of duty while responding to a patient call on 12-8-2010.Being there for your children is the hardest part while you try to find time to grieve for yourself. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I will lift you up while you find strength to find your new normal. It's the hardest thing you never thought you'd have to do, I understand.

As a human being with a heart, compassion, and empathy for my fellow man. I offer my condolences to Deputy Hopper's family. Far too often, we see this kind of event. There was no need to shoot an officer of the Law. This may sound sexist but I assure it isn't, there was no need to shoot a woman who was doing her job. Officers are there to protect and serve their communities, not to be senselessly cut down while performing. My prayers go out to everyone involved, may you find strength, and comfort as our Lord reaches down and places His loving hands upon you. I apologize I posted too much, I just happen to have had something to say.

Suzanne, Thank You so much for your sacrifice. You really are a hero. You deserve to walk the streets of gold. RIP sister.

I also want to say that I am so very proud of your brothers and sisters in blue and brown. They fought so very hard for you even being injured themselves. Your Sheriff is a man of honor and I could tell your death deeply affected him. I want to tell them all that they did a great job in assisting you.

For the man that murdered you, I truely hope he will roast for eternity in the firey pits of hell all while you walk the streets of gold.

RIP Deputy Hopper. Your life was taken at the hands of a coward, one who seized the opportunity to take advantage of another human while they were simply doing their job. Thank you for your service to Clark County, the State of Ohio, and your fellow man. God Bless you and your family, both at home and at the Sheriff's Office. John 15:13
