Reflections for Police Officer Jillian Michelle Smith

God bless you sister officer! You made the ultimate sacrifice by laying your life down for another. May God rest your soul and may you sit beside him in his kingdom. You are a true hero and will never be forgotten. I will pray for your family, friends, and your department. I know all too well what they are going through today. On December 6th 2009 we lost Ofc. Michael Crawshaw. May the two of you protect us from above!

To Remember the Fallen

to remember the fallen
is not to remember how they fell
but to remember why and for what

to remember the fallen
is not only to remember their actions
but to remember the dream for which they fought

to remember the fallen
is not to remember how they fought
but to remember who they fought for

to remember the fallen
is to remember their reason
to remember their dreams
and to remember those they fought to save

to remember the fallen
we continue their fight
we carry their dreams
and we finish what they start

Officer Smith must have been one very special person to be called home so soon by our Lord. May our heavenly Father comfort her family and the Arlington Police Dept. at this most difficult time. Prayers for all our law enforcement officers as well.

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Rev. 21:4

Although I never met you I cried when the news came across. You may have been a rookie but after reading about your shielding the little girl defines what a true Police Officer is all about. My brother was a police officer who lost his life in the line of duty. You and Richard walk together in Heaven. As long as both of you are there Heaven will be that much sweeter. May God Bless the Hero and that is you.

Words do not seem adequate enough to express the magnitude of emotion of not only the community that Jillian served but of a nation of Brothers and Sisters in Blue who grieve the loss of such a selfless HERO. Jillian made that split second decision to give her life for the life of that young girl. That act alone speaks volumes of the caliber of person Jillian was and the type of family she must have had surrounding her and encouraging her in her journey to become an officer. Today is a very sad day that such a young, vibrant, beautiful person was stolen from us all! My deepest condolences go out to the Smith family, Jillians friends and her family in Blue in Arlington,TX. Jillian will never be forgotten!

To the family/friends and co-workers of Officer Jillian Smith-my deep concern goes out to you all in this time of great tragedy. Why do these things happen-because of the evilness of other people. Your loved one took a stand against lawlessness and evil and has regrettably made the ultimate sacrifice. Her willingness to serve in law enforcement, her bravery and her character will never be forgotten. God Bless you all at this vert difficult time.
