I REMEMBER 7/6/2001 WHEN WE LOST OUR CHIEF OF POLICE CECIL GURR. WHAT A SAD DAY THAT WAS FOR THE WHOLE COMMUNITY, BUT ESPECIALLY SAD FOR THE PEOPLE THAT LOVED HIM, FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND EVERYONE ON HIS WATCH. WE ARE A SMALL COMMUNITY SO I CAN RELATE TO THE DEATH OF DEPUTY SHERIFF JOSIE GREATHOUSE FOX, KNOWING WHAT YOU ARE ALL GOING THRU AND THE INCREDIABLE PAIN THAT NEVER SEEMS TO TOTALLY GO AWAY. MAY THE LORD BE WITH YOU ALL AT THIS TIME.

God rest Josie's soul and may He comfort her family and fellow peace officers and the communities affected by this tragedy. Living in a small community we take our comforts for granted and don't always realize the dangers our deputies face each time they go into the field. Thank your law enforcement members any chance you get, they are keeping you safe at any cost.
