As a mother and wife of a deputy sheriffN my heart goes out to this family who has had their mom violently taken from them. Even in your pain remember you mom, your wife is a hero who was out protecting your community from harm. She took that seriously and died doing what she loved. In the end Gods justice will be served for her sacrifice and yours. May God stay close to you and comfort you all during this time.

Thank you for your selfless sacrifice. Your bravery will never be forgotten. I will never understand this violent world that we are in, but I know you are forever safe in the arms of Jesus. REST IN PEACE......
"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

I dont think that people know just how much we (Law enforcement) risk on a daily basis. This is just a shame, sad reality of daily police business. Heart goes out to this family. We buried our chief 01/01/2010 who served 42years.

I'am so very sorry to learn of this loss. My husband's death was somewhat similar. I can't say I know exactly what your family is going through, but I have a pretty good idea and I pray that they will have some peace. I know from personal experience that it gets harder before it gets the slightest bit easy. Each day is a struggle, sometimes you have to take things hour by hour. No words can take away the pain but I hope you know that you're not alone.
