Shane's presence will be greatly missed. I worked in the church nursery with Audie, Aiden & Baby Abigail. Audie was very eager to tell me all about his dad and the work he did as a game warden. Shane and Tricia have a beautiful family and all our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

May you feel the comfort and love from across this nation embrace them and hold them up during this difficult time. We will not forget him and will forever be in his debt for all he has done for us.

The officers of the Chambers County Sheriff's Office are in my prayers during this dark time as they continue the mission of making our world a safer place. To each of you I say a big “Thank You” for doing what you do everyday. Thank you for going into “the office” when you don’t feel like it. Thank you for standing out and directing traffic in the rain. Thank you for working the night shift when we are safe in bed. Thank you for putting on that uniform everyday. You are all heroes. I don’t know how often you hear it, but I’m certain it’s not nearly enough. You are in my prayers.

Deputy Detwiler,

I appreciate your service and commitment you gave during your service to this Country and to your community.

You are a true hero and a real crime fighter.

Interestingly enough the suspect responsible for your untimely demise couldn't face up to being responsible for his crime and ended his own life.

This is an example of the battle that we as Police Officers fight on the streets everyday. We face many tough challenges and deal with persons that are unstable and careless in the actions.

Deputy Detwiler you did your job well and to the best of your ability. I commend you for your sacrifice. You will not be forgotten.

My thoughts and prayers will be with your family and loved ones.

Police Officer Louis Lave
Los Angeles County Police Department
