What can possibly be said? This young man is only one year older than my oldest son. It tears me apart, and I'm not even part of his family!

My Lord Jesus, I lift up Joshua into your loving care. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God". May Your eternal light shine ever so brightly on him.

For his Family, Lord Jesus strengthen and lift them up as they deal with such a tremendous loss. May your love and light comfort and guide them to the truth that is only You.

I know I speak for our entire dept in sending our deepest condolences to the Broadway family. Anytime we lose an officer it cast a very heavy burden on us as dispatchers. Officer Broadway is a hero and his family and friends will be in my prayers.

I am sitting here today watching DVDS of my son who was killed in the line of duty on this day in 2005. My thoughts and prayers go out to Officer Broadway's family and fiancee.....especially to his Mom,because I know how it feels. It is a huge hole in your heart that never gets filled up again. It hurts to lose a child especially at the age of 21, when he is just starting his life . If you have been contacted by COPS [Concerns of Police Survivors] please stay in contact as they help you a lot. He looks so very young. I'm sure he is with all those fellow officers, at peace and smiling down at us and telling us it is okay.

Joshua,

You were taken from us to young. You had so much ahead of you. You had so much life to be taken from us.

Maybe God needed someone like you. Maybe He needed someone so full of life to look over us. Only God knows the divine plan.

You will be missed and you will NEVER be forgotten.

May the love of the Lord Jesus wrap you all -- family, friends and department -- in His eternal love. Although we may not see it at this very moment, He does have His perfect reason for taking Officer Broadway home to Heaven. May He show you what that reason is as time begins to again move forward.

Your brothers and sisters will never forget your name and will care for your family. Know you are now in the company of the elite of the elite brothers and sisters in the badge in god's kingdom having no more forces of evil to face and only loving and graceful assignements from our leader Jesus. Your devotion, honor and loving spirit here will stand as a reminder to all still working here. Rest in peace brother.
