I will always remember Rob as a Cops Cop. When my graduating academy class arrived at Gulfport, Rob when out of his way to show us rookies the ropes. I still remember looking up to him and how sharp his DUI uniform looked, as he was always squared away. As a supervisor moving up in the ranks, Rob always took care of his troops making sure they had the necessary tools to do their job. After Katrina, I remember Rob giving cops who had lost everything, due to the storm, the clothes out of his closet. Rob even took in a fellow GPD LT and his family to live with them after the storm. That's the kind of cop Rob was. Along with being OIC of GPD's Traffic Unit, which was a dream job, Rob was aslo a member of the GPD SWAT Negotiator Team. I had the pleasure of working with Rob on several call outs, all ending successfully. At a recent call out, he made the comment that he loved the SWAT team and loved to see the Entry Team at work, as we recalled several past callouts. To the rookies coming up, Rob is someone you need to look up to and strive to be. To the guys who have been here for a while and worked along side Rob, we have some large boots to fill. To Rob, Goodbye Brother, you will be missed, but never forgotten.
