Tony,
I was devastated when I learned of your passing. I had arrived at the hospital to show you I would always be your brother, not just a former co-worker. I had been giving the impression you weren't seriously injured, so I was very shocked when told the news. I hope were you are now, is a very peaceful, and men of your character are treated as they should be, as a hero. I will try to assist your family and friends the best I can, and I'm sure they will return the favor to me and others. It seems like just a couple months ago when we were partnered-up for your training. I will miss you brother.

Tony,

It seems like yesterday when my husband came home telling me what good trainee you were and how far you would make it in the business.

Then there was that time I busted him cheating with the girl in Jack in the Box and you just sat there, not saying a word. While we all sat at a table laughing at another deputy (not naming names) who had just pulled over a girl with a ferret in the car and didn't realize he let a felony go. We about died laughing as he frantically tried to find that code. The only person at the table who didn't find it funny was the "H" dog!!!

Then there were those times at the casino as well when we could do nothing more than laugh at what was in front of us.

God Bless your entire family...Hopefully the boys will take care of them!!!

A friend forever

Tony,

It seems like only yesterday when you "lightened" my Academy office doorway for the first time as a brand new Academy Cadet. I watched you develop in so many ways during your tenure. Our many visits in that same office I will treasure always. You had the ability to stop in, if only to just say "hello," where many of your peers were too scared to even walk by my office. As I said, I will cherish our fellowship always.

At your Academy graduation, I asked you, as I ask all my graduating cadets, to "Keep in touch." You kept that promise as few often do.

I knew on your very first day, as I did on your graduation, what a special person you are. You took those special qualities and shared them with the citizens of Yolo County and the law enforcement community as a whole. All of us have been the beneficiary of your special gifts, and we can't begin to thank you enough.

Personally, your passing has left a hole in my heart and soul that will never heal. However, I take a modicum of comfort on knowing that you are now in a better place... watching over and protecting us.

God Bless you Tony... Rest in Peace my friend...

Respectfully,

Tony, as we knew you Pepe, you are going to be missed by all that knew you. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. The old Mervyn's gang will always watch over your wife and three girls, and I know they have the love and support of your entire family through this unforseen tragedy. God bless all, and their families, that serve our communities and country. They are truly hero's!
