To the family, friends and co-workers of Officer Ballman,

Words cannot express how sad and angry this tragedy has made me. Many lives are lost because of one angry resident who felt he was being treated unfairly and SNAPPED. Although, I didn't know Officer Ballman personally, I felt that I should write something on this site. I appreciate everything that Law Enforcement does to protect us everyday and I will make sure to thank an officer the next time I see one for putting their life on the line for me everyday.

Today we will cry and we will grieve for a friend and his family.
We will come together and comfort one another because we lost a brother. It won't be easy but we will try to do our best to make him proud.
We will keep his memory close to our hearts and never forget who he was.
And, to us he will always be a part of who we are and what we stand for.
Today, we will continue to wear the badge and uniform with honor, in his memory.

Tom,
You such such a cool guy even for a grown up, I remember the youth group meetings when we'd all go around asking stupid questions about laws we didn't think were fair. But you always had a good explanation, and a smile to go with it. The one thing I'll always remember was the high school float trip, splashing and messing around just like one of us kids. You will be greatly missed and I will remember your friendship always. Rest in peace, Tori.

Going to lunch won't be the same without you. Looking at the clock each morning and not seeing you come in the office will be different. Hearing the stories about Josh and Rachel each day are gone. Hearing you say your favorite motto will be missed. I just want to say, "Thank you, thank you, thank you very much" for being there when I needed someone to vent to, when I needed a word spelled, when I just needed a friend.

Now I will really have to sing Blue Christmas without you.

It's been many years since I've seen Tommy. In my heart and mind, he has always been my little cousin Tommy. I'm so proud of all that he has done to serve our country and his community -- first as a Marine and then as a police officer. I'm deeply saddened that he left this Earth in such a senseless manner. My heart aches for his Mother, sisters, Grandmother, wife, and children. I believe he is with his Father and Grandfather today. What a joyous reunion that must have been.

I went to Lindbergh High School with Tom and graduated in 1988. Tom was a big guy with a big heart. I remember his laugh and his smile. As we all grow older we go our different ways. Its been a couple of years since I've seen him but whenever I did he always said hello. He was always the same guy. He never changed. I know he will be greatly missed and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends who share in this loss. Rest in peace.

To Fritz, my best friend, my soul-mate, my life, my inspiration. I always knew how special you were and now it appears the world can see that too. My heart is filled with ache and your baby girl misses the 'nook' of your arm. Your son told me today that you are in the wind and surround us with your presence, pretty strong words for a 5-year-old. I thank everyone, those who truly knew him, those who knew of him and those unfortuate to never have met him at all. I leave with the words from U-2; Oh don't sorrow, no don't weep For tonight, at last I am coming home, I am coming home. You are home my love with God holding you in the palm of his hand.
