I am angered by this situation. First and foremost I give so much respect and prayers to the family of the fine officers that were senselessly murdered.

May God bless you and keep you,and may you never have to suffer at the hands of another again.

We wish we could change people and their mindsets. I am also infuriated that the family of this criminal feels the need to say anything but how horrible it was what he had done. I pray for God's conviction to work in their hearts.

I also pray for the coworkers who are left to pull their team together and press on. All of you are not forgotten. Your fellow brothers and sisters in law enforcement are pulling for you.

A Thank you also to Officer Tom Ballman for choosing a path of righteousness in your life and setting an example for others. May your death turn many peoples lives away from the horrible life of crime.

As I watched the news unfolding last night and saw what was happening in Kirkwood, I began praying that the Lord would spare you, Tom! You have been a part of our family for so many years, and my children know you as "Uncle Tom". You and Michael are brothers in the truest sense. Growing up I heard it so many times "Mike and Tom". "Tom and Mike". Your brave service to our country as a Marine, will never be forgotten. I remember seeing you when you came home for the first time in your dress blues! I was proud and in awe, yet couldn't believe that was our little Tommy Ballman! Then when you told us that you wanted to be a police officer, I remember thinking, "He's so brave!"

Cindy~ I am truly saddened and am praying for you and your beautiful children. There are no words to express the grief that you have right now, but I hope that you will feel God's presence and comfort. Please lean on Him right now, and He will be there for you.

What a sacrifice! What a tragedy! What a man!

I'll miss you, Tom!

Tom,
My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, friends and co-workers. They are going to need all the strength you can give them - but they will have alot of support and we will be there for them, as you were there for us. I remember talking to you about something you put on my brother's site and how it made me feel good - I would have never, ever imagined I would be sitting here now writing on your site. I know you had someone waiting for you in heaven. Rest in peace. You are a hero and will never be forgotten. Jayne McEntee, sister of Sgt. Bill McEntee

God Bless you Officer Ballman for your service to Kirkwood Police Dept. Your family, friends, and co-workers will be in our thoughts and prayers. I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said it all." Land of the free, because of the brave". It was a MarineCorp slogan, but it applies to all police officers too. You will not be forgotten brother. Rest in Peace.

A Policeman’s Prayer

Brother when you weep for me remember that it was meant to be.
Lay me down and when you leave, remember I’ll be at your side…
In every dark and Dreary Alley I’ll be there as you slowly tread,
On every street corner in the driving snow I’ll hold your coat and
You will know.

In places where the devil is afraid to walk…
At doors where you meet resistance…
In houses where children hide…
You know I’ll be at your side.

The place from which now respond is overstaffed with heroes gone…
Men who answered one last job and did it well.
As policemen we understand that this is a card dealt in our hand…
A card we hope we never play but we hold it there anyway.
The card is something we ignore as we stand on that thin blue line every tour…
For we know that we are the only prayer for many out there.

So remember, as you wipe your tears, the joy I have known throughout the years…
As the job I loved to do I pray this thought will see you through.
