My deepest sympathy goes to you and your family. My husband was responding to an officer and was killed by a drunk driver. I was left with two small daughters so I feel your pain very much so. Keep your faith and take it one day at a time. God Bless you and your family.

May God be with the wife and children of L/CPL Haynes in this difficult time. They are in my prayers. May the many memories I have of working with L/CPL Haynes never be forgotten, for he has made the ultimate sacrifice. I will always remember him, for he was a wonderful person and a great Patrolman. May you rest peacefully with GOD now.

MY SERGEANT ASKED ME ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO WHY I KEPT THE BLACK BAND ON MY BADGE A MONTH AFTER A FUNERAL WE ATTENDED FOR A FELLOW LEO. I RESPONDED WITH ONE WORD THAT HAD A HERO STORY BEHIND IT. (EVERYDAY)! EVERYDAY WE ACROSS THE STATES WALK OUT THAT DOOR BUT NOT BEFORE SAYING (SEE YA SOON) TO LOVED ONES. EVERYDAY WE DO NOT KNOW IF WE WILL RETURN HOME BUT WE STILL GO. EVERYDAY WE RUN TOWARD THE DANGER AS EVERYONE RUNS AWAY. EVERYDAY WE DO OUR BEST TO ENFORCE BY TEACHING A BETTER WAY. BUT MOST OF ALL EVERYDAY WE KEEP PEACE ON EARTH AS THE GUARDIANS OF GOD BECAUSE EVERYDAY LIFE NEED US TO SURVIVE. EVERYDAY WE PRAY THAT WE COME HOME BUT WHEN GOD CALLS US WE KNOW OUR JBB HERE IS DONE! GOD BLESS ALL LEO'S AND FAMILY

I ve been a cop for almost 15 years now and I will never forgot after I got out of the Marine Corps seeing the Trooper Mark Coates Shooting. That has always been in my mind on everything I do. I really gained alot of knowledge & Respect for the South Carolina Highway Patrol. I hate to see it when any of us go down. I know you all are a strong Agency and will overcome in time. Lord I hope you could put a Hedge of Protection around Lance Corporal Haynes Family & Friends.

I just lost a good friend of 30 years, ASP Sgt. Rick LeBow. He was a good cop, and a wonderful person. I know the pain I am experiencing, and can only imagine how hard it is on you. Please take comfort in knowing that Lance Corporal James D. Hanes, your friend, brother, father, son or relative will FOREVER be a hero and will NEVER be forgotten. May God continue to bless us all.
