Reflections for Police Officer Nicola Diane Cotton

Your watch is ended. May our Heavenly Father watch over your family and friends during this tragic time? May your soul walk carefully and proudly into everlasting life. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. Rest in God’s peace my friend, you deserve it. These are "American Heroes" who just yesterday were women and men just doing their job!

A tragedy that mere words cannot ameliorate. In the finest traditions of law enforcement, Nicola Cotton displayed the true warrior spirit and selflessness of service to protect her community. She showed her commitment to her values with decisive action, where most people can only give lip service. I salute you Officer Cotton, may you rest in peace, and comfort come to your family, friends, and agency.

I am so saddened by Nicola's death. Her family and friends need to know that her efforts were not in vain and that they are appreciated by the common folk like myself. I know that there are no words that can comfort at this time, but i do know that there is one beautiful angel in God's heaven. All my love and prayers from the Volunteer State of Tennessee.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Nicola, her family, and her extended family in blue, the NOPD. These past couple of years, post-Katrina, have been hard for us all due to the crime in the New Orleans Metro Area. It takes someone special to deal with the scum that lives in our city, and Officer Cotton you are one of those special people. From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank you and your family, who stood behind you, for protecting our city! May you rest in peace!

Nicola was so sweet. I'm going to miss her. I asked why she wanted to be an officer when she was in the academy and she replied she always wanted to do it. She did what she wanted to help make our city a better place. God bless her and her family and friends.

My condolences to Officer Cotton’s family, both Blood line and Blue Line. It’s an angel’s job to protect the weak, and to guard the moral fabric of our society. Officer Cotton’s life was cut short here on earth, but her soul will live on and her duty as guardian angel just changed jurisdiction. God Bless Us All.

My Prayers and deepest heart felt love, and condolences, go out to Nicola's family, and the men and woman of the New Orleans Police department. You have a very overwhelming task with in your city and very little help to get it accomplished. Know that you are all in our prayers and that she is in that special place in heaven, with God,allotted, just for you folks, who stick it out, day in and day out, and continue to persevere in that war zone. She is looking down on all of you folks with love. Lord, also have mercy on this fool that killed her. Killing him won't change anything. Put him in Angola forever and throw away the key,and let him spend the rest of his life , once he sobers up,living with what he did to this brave solider in the crime war. Let him know God's forgiveness, in a world that can't forgive him, and be an agent for spiritual change, in that prison, for you, for the rest of his life. That is my prayer for his thoughtless behind. Peace to all . God Bless.Don
