Reflections for Police Officer Matthew Barret Thebeau

It is with a very heavy heart that I learned of Officer Thebeau passing. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family and co-workers. I did not have the honor of knowing Officer Thebeau, but we were both members of police link and Brothers of the badge, and he will be greatly missed.
Matt, God holds a special place in heaven for those that place themselves between the good and evil in this world, and he never forgets the ones that we leave behind..He will bless and look out for your family and co-workers and he will help Alisa through this dark and terrible time.
+Rest In Peace My Brother, For Your Watch Has Ended+

I never dreamed it would be me
My name for all eternity
Recorded here at this hallowed place
Alas, my name, no more my face

"In the line of duty" I hear them say
My family now the price will pay
My folded flag stained with their tears
We only had those few short years

The badge no longer on my chest
I sleep now in eternal rest
My sword I pass to those behind
And pray they keep this thought in mind

I never dreamed it would be me
And with heavy heart and bended knee
I ask for all here from the past
Dear God, let my name be the last
(Author unknown)

God bless all the men and women in blue.

Matt Thebeau was a great officer and wonderful person. His picture shows the type of guy he was, always happy and darn funny to be around. I had the great pleasure of knowing him while he was an officer here in Corpus Christi and he will be sorely missed by all the officers here.
