We fought,we laughed but most of all when it came down to it we were always there for each other, never leaving the other one behind. I always got the best of you but I think it was because you let me. I was very proud of you and and I still am. I know you and dad are fishing and you and Mom are fixing something to cook or bake, if God lets you in the kitchen. I love you big brother, there's not a day that goes by without a tear in my eye, and then I see you standing there with that great big smile on your face and I smile back at you. Your smile, your laughter, your love for others will always carry on. I know God gave you a beautiful set of wings because you really deserve them. Baby Wayne, we all will miss you but we know you are here with us, never to leave us. Give dad and mom a great big hug and kiss. Find Crystal Gail and give her alot of kisses from me too. I love you baby Wayne, fly high big brother til we see you again.

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Everytime I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the man they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Deputy Hudgins. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Jerry, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Jerry's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Jerry's life was about so much more than the way he died. Jerry will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Deputy Hudgins, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been almost five years but we still miss him terribly.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

Wayne once told me I was like a sister to him. I helped him through some tough times and he helped me through some tough times. He was easy to talk to. Always willing to help someone. It's odd for me to drive down Highway 1 or even around town and not see him. Wayne was full of life and I never saw him without a smile. I'll miss him.

Deputy Wayne (I called him Daddy) will be missed very much. He was a loving dad, a great friend, caring person, a hard worker, and a wonderful fisherman.
