The Final Inspection

The police officer stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, officer.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"

The police officer squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.

There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the police officer waited quietly,
For the judgement of his God.

"Step forward now, officer,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

Officer Cameron Weidenbach
AZ Department of Public Safety - Highway Patrol

I believe that we are in the Final Days, and God, Himself
is populating Heaven with all of the Good Souls!
Officer Erfle is just one of many that will be there
waiting, among the many, along with Alan Ragsdale, Jason
Malikowski, and Trooper Calvin Jenks. God Bless Them, each
and every one, for they have paid the ultimate price.
No greater gift can be given, than ones life, for the protection of anothers.

Thank you for being such a great friend and partner to my brother. He will miss you more than words can say. My brother was shot at eight or nine times on the street with no cover at close range after you went down, but not one bullet hit him. I know you were there for him still working as his partner shielding him from those bullets. Thank you for saving his life. I know my brother still has a great and powerful partner in spirit now. Thank you for your service and making the world a better place and protecting my brother. You are truly a special one. May God bless and comfort your wife and children and family. They have been through so much. Angels are with them. Again, thank you for saving my brother.
