Constable Bailey, today is the 2nd anniversary of your murder. You gave 38 years of your life to law enforcement and owed nothing to anyone, yet you volunteered your time none the less, even though you certainly earned the right to rest on your laurels in retirement. For these filth to take your life in such a despicable and vicious way is inconceivable, yet, it obviously happened. May they never enjoy freedom again and may you finally be able to truly rest.

God Bless, Brother.

Bob sorry took so long to write, Teresa,Buddy and I had a good time at the 2007 LE memorial in washington,DC. You along with 181 of our brothers and sisters were honored..We felt like the President or a VIp coming to Washington. Teresa and Buddy went to family counseling while I went to the police officer counseling. Their I met with other brothers and sisterswho lost their partners and are feeling the same way I am. I met a brother from the San Antonio PD who lost his partner,He is a big guy just like you.Teresa met him and his partners father we all bonded as one.The counseling helped Teresa and I but I will always miss you partner. You were there when my father past away,we hunted and fished together, you took over when my father pasted away.We spoke many atime about the lord and what it will be like when we seem him,on those days when dispatch wasnt calling us.You were not only my father-in-law and partner you were my friend. But I know you are with the lord along with my father.Teresa and I have a etching of your name and I have mine framed in a print entilted "WE NEVER WALK ALONE"Its apainting of an officer nealing down touching the name of his partner and his partner in uniform who is now an angel touching his shoulder. I now that partner is you and you are protecting me.Thats what keeps me going and the promiss I made to you that i would take care of Teresa.Well got to go Bob,Talk to you later.

Bobby was like a second dad to me. I moved across the street from him in 1984 and his family and mine became very close friends and we still are. I found out that he was missing while I was at work and I had to go home to be with the family . I never left thier side. When I found out that they found his body it was the worst day of my life untill his funeral. To this day I will never forget that having to say goodbye to a man that I love and will always love. He was a very special man to me and will be deeply miss but NEVER FORGOTTEN
I miss you adn love you Bobby we all do

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Everytime I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the man they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Constable Bailey. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Robert, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Robert's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Robert's life was about so much more than the way he died. Robert will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Constable Bailey, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been almost five years but we still miss him terribly.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

Bob, I attended the dedication of the Town Of Lincolnville Public Safety Building on Saturday, September 1, 2007. The Town dedicated the Building in your memory with your name on the building. The Mayor and several council members spoke along with Senator Randy Scott, you would have been proud of their comments. There was a barbeque lunch after the dedication, the food was good. May God continue to bless you and your family. Rest in peace my brother and friend.
