Hard to believe it is the 10th anniversary of your death..it feels like yesterday and forever all at the same time..I still have such a hole in my heart that will never mend until we meet again..It just never seems to get easier! I have gone through all of the reflections on this page and it warms my heart to see you are not forgotten..it angers me that you were taken from us so young..unfortunately we have no control of gods will to take home his angel..just know how much I love you baby brother and miss you dearly, you are in my thoughts and my heart xoxo

My Uncle Richard has received the medal of honor for sacrifice. He is my hero! Today is his birthday-May 11,2016. I have never met him. I'm 13 and I'm very interested in history and family! It's very important! and every day I think how my Uncle R. had received the medal of honor for sacrifice!

It has been many years and I still remember riding with you and Carlo in the BP truck listening to the Mets games on the radio. You were a great FTO and even a greater person. You will always be remembered.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 5th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace. Thanks to your family and friends for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflections.

Richard,

I just came accross this page by accident, your friend Jesse got all of us bumper magnets from the officer down memorial page and I was trying to find the page he ordered them from because mine disappeared in the delta sonic car wash, very upset about that and I must have a new one. I have read all the expressions written here, they are all very touching. I can understand why your friends on here have written and still think about you, anyone who knew you couldnt help but love you. Richard we miss soooooo much, words can not express. I like to believe that you are still in California working and just havent heard from you in awhile but I obviously know different. Your life was cut way too short! I can't beleive it has been 3 years already and we are coming up on 1 year for Dad. Everytime I look at your picture, the only thing I can say is you should still be here with us and then I tear up! I am not too sure about the whole heaven thing but if it really does exist, I hope you and Dad are together with all of the people that have passed on that we knew and loved. Dad could never except your death, you know Ma is a tough cookie, atleast she portrays herself to be one. You were her baby boy and no parent can get over that, I know she thinks of you everyday, as we all do. To those of you who personally knew my brother, were very fortunate and he was very fortunate to have your friendship. He was a very loyal friend, he would give you the shirt off his back without thinking twice and I am sure he is watching over each and everyone of you. Richard I miss your sore losing ways at card games (card games will never be the same), your dimples when you would smile and your laugh that no one could ever immitate..lol..I do wish you would give me a sign letting me know that there is a heaven and that you couldnt be happier. Well until next time, know we love you and miss you everyday.

Love, Laura

It has been very difficult for myself and my family these past months.
My Father has passed back in June.He just could not deal with all that has happened to Richard. He and my entire family has never been the same. There is alot of anger and hate over Richards death.Stll believe it was not accidental and never will believe otherwise.Just very sad that a family has been destroyed because of this. Richard i Love and miss you so so much!!!I hope you and Dad are there together in a beautiful place unlike here. Love ya always! Sandra

Today was a rather difficult day for myself and the entire family,Marking the two yr.Anniversery of my brothers death. We miss him so very much.Days still go by when i still do not believe he is truly gone, but still in California waiting to come home for a visit.Today was a beautiful mass at St. Josephs Cathedral in Buffalo in honor all fallen law enforcement agents.Very nicely done.Days also go by when i wonder about the truth to my brothers drowning.Very hard to believe that Richard would jump in to a canal to rescue his K-9 partner Carlo.I still believe deep in my heart he had a little help. Some day the truth will come out.Richard we Love & miss you so very much!!! Love Sandra
