Reflections for Border Patrol Agent Richard Goldstein

As a K-9 officer I know how we watch out for our four legged partners. I get teased all the time that I spend more time with Cheeto than my wife. I am sure that your partner misses you and is greatfull for your love and actions.

Richard was my brother and he will be extremely missed by all who knew him. He loved his job & his partner Carlo to which he made the ultimate sacrifice. Although he was my brother my heart goes out to his mom and dad who have just suffered the ultimate loss. There is no greater pain then the loss of a child. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Richard will be remembered and honored as an American hero. Thank you to all the other men and women who protect us and put their lives on the line every day.
Rest in peace Richard. We love you.

Aloha Border Patrol Agent Richard Goldstein,
Thank you for your service and dedication to your community and your country. You and all officers that continue to lay your lives on the line and pay the ultimate sacrifice to keep our communities and country safe, will NEVER be forgotten.

I personally pledge, (after one of Hawaii's own, Honolulu Police Officer Steve Favela, lost his life last year in the line of duty protecting our Commander in Chief, President George W. Bush), to become a continuum; a keeper of the ODMP light. That light is in the form of an ODMP tribute. People from all walks of life, regardless of age, race, religion, profession, education, and geographical location can share here.

This "LIGHT" comes from within the heart and soul of every person who cares to share a word or two on behalf of each and every fallen officer. Every fallen officer is a hero. The ODMP; Officer Down Memorial Page gives us a place to come together and share our feelings as one family. May we find solace as we give solace to the families who have lost a loved one.

Border Patrol Agent Richard Goldstein, God Bless you. You are a hero. As we say in Hawaii, “You are`Ohana.” “You are Family.” No one will ever be able to replace you for you were unique and very special. No one; not in this lifetime. May God allow you to rest in His Divine peace. I wish you, your loved ones, and your fellow officers, peace and love beyond all understanding. I honor you today. You will NEVER be forgotten.

--"Your life is much more important than you can imagine."--Maya Angelou

The sacrifices made each day by those who serve to protect our country's border are sometimes too tragic to bear as in this case. I lift prayers to God for the family of Agent Goldstein asking for comfort that only God can provide in times like these. May it somehow help to know there are many, many people who care and are sending prayers in your behalf for comfort and strength to make it through. Gone but never forgotten...
