Lisa,
I know I had only met you a few times, but when I got the call just after the accident it felt as if I had just lost one of my best-friends. My prayers and my families prayers go out to you, your family, and the Beaumont Police Department. You are dearly missed by the whole Law Enforcement Family. Rest In Peace

I was very close to being killed by a drunk driver on November 12, 2006, at 0129 hrs. I was on the "passenger side" of my patrol vehicle when a drunk driver struck my patrol unit, violator unit and killed my violator. My heart is with you and your family.

For you, your family, and all of our brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement, I again have a renewed passion for what I do.

LISA,
YOU AlWAYS SEEMED TO BLOW THINGS OFF AND TAKE THEM IN STRIDE. NOT A THING EASILY DONE WHEN YOU DO THIS JOB. I AM PROUD TO SAY THAT I WORKED BOTH WITH YOU AS A DISPATCHER AND A POLICE OFFICER. I STILL DONT REALLY KNOW WHAT TO THINK AT THIS POINT. SOME THINGS HAVE NO EXPLANATION. YOU WILL BE PROUDLY REMEMBERED LISA.... AND YOU ARE STILL REMEMBERED CONRAD...

Dear Lisa-
I, like everyone else cannot believe that you are gone....I took you for granted just like everyone else did...and for that I am truly sorry. You were the last "partner" that I have ridden with...it always amazed me that you always wanted to ride with me....why? You know I always gave you a hard time....even though we were oceans apart personality wise, I loved you and you loved me...and that is all that really matters...We are all still in shock...I am working on the cross for you... not the one that you wanted for your house...but the one that will give you the honor that you so deserve. Lisa, rest in peace. Kimmie

Rest in peace. Our thoughts are with you and the rest of the Beaumont PD. I can only imagine the horror that your fellow officers had to go through that night of the accident, and only hope that they or we never have to go through it ever again. Hopefully they throw the book at the driver who decided to drink and drive, thus, costing you your life.

God Bless

On Memory
When you remember me, it means that you
have carried something of who I am with you,
that I have left some mark on who I am on who you are.
It means that you can summon me back to your mind
even though countless years and miles may stand between us.
It means that if we meet again, you will know me,
and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart.
For as long as you remember me, I am never entirely lost.
~Frederick Buechner

Lisa Lou
I remember when we first met when you started in 97 as a dispatcher. I thought you were goofy, but an excellent dispatcher. We were complete opposites, you the beautiful girly, girl me the rough, jock, tomboy etc...However, we became friends at work and away from work. I was one of the ones at first that was shocked when you hired on as an officer. I never thought you would be tough enough, but I was so wrong and I found that out as soon as we started working the same shift. We handled things way different, but you proved day in and day out you could do the job. You put your own thumb print on everything you touched. I will always cherish the times we met for chow or at starbucks just to chit chat. Our time was too short, and I am sorry if I ever hurt your feelings because I was so blunt with you. Although seeing you laying on the pavement is still haunting me, it is still a moment I will always be glad that I was there for you. I would not trade holding you there or at the hospital until you went to be with our Lord. Me, Kimmie and Charla will continue to work 4th watch without you, but we will never, ever forget you. You will be with us in our hearts, minds and cars, starbucks etc.....
Love you always!

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Beaulieu and we honor her distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Officer Beaulieu has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.

To the family and friends of Officer Beaulieu, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with her when she walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that she will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Officer Beaulieu is distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for her brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

My Eulogy for Lisa
April 30, 2007

My name is Bobby Anderson and I would like to start off by thanking all of the officers from other agencies, officer’s family members, and citizens that have come here today to show support for all of Lisa’s family members and friends. Just when you think you genuinely know someone, a tragedy such as this occurs. Unfortunately, this period of confiding and consoling is when you actually begin to understand the person that is no longer in your life.
I first met Lisa during the physical training test portion of the Beaumont Police Department’s hiring process. The first test was the quarter mile run in which they paired up the first two candidates by alphabetical order, which was Lisa and I. From that moment on, Lisa and I would be side by side for the next several years. Throughout the entire Field Training Officer program, Lisa and I were assigned to the same Watch, when we finished the training program we were reassigned to the same Watch, and when we were able to bid on a shift of our choice we ended up on the same Watch again. During this first couple of years we always shared the same chow time, attended the same in-service, and participated in the same core courses together. Funny thing is, we never planned it this way or made any attempt to work so closely together.
I quickly discovered that Lisa and I shared several things in common. First, we both loved our jobs and the department we worked for. Secondly, we shared a true passion for all music – especially that of our generation, and thirdly, most of her good friends are guys and most of my good friends are girls.
Lisa was like the sister I never had and always wanted. I come from a long line of large Catholic families, until my generation. Of course, my mother said my behavior, as the eldest child, is responsible for the downsizing of my immediate family. Nonetheless, I wished I had more brothers and at least one sister. Lisa was the closet thing I had to a sister and I realized this more and more after watching my son and daughter interact. Lisa and I were not happy with one another unless we were fighting, arguing, or picking on each other. Like siblings, we were very blunt with each other, but never hesitated to call upon each other in times of need.
For the first week after Hurricane Rita I had to sleep in a large maintenance room at St. Elizabeth Hospital with forty other officers, all sleeping uncovered in their underwear. Luckily, Lisa and I had been graciously given generators by a Buddhist organization out of Houston. Since we were working opposing shifts she suggested that Officer Wagner and I hook up the generators and move into the part of her garage that had been converted into a dog kennel. Picturing another night looking at officers in their underwear made this decision very easy for me. It was during this week that I realized how many pair of shoes she owned, how many clothes she had, and how organized she was. From the first day of our orientation in May of 2001, until the last time I saw her in civilian clothes in March, I never knew what to expect her to show up in. Going places with Lisa away from work was like attending a Cher concert; she never wore the same thing twice.
Officer Tolley told me that while he was training Lisa one day, they stepped out on two of our local male cross-dressers. Both of these guys were wearing open toed high heel shoes. When Officer Tolley and Lisa finished their business with the guys, Lisa told them they really needed to invest in pedicures. One day Officer Aaron Lewallen and Lisa were off-duty and eating at Schlotzsky’s. All of a sudden a man ran by the window carrying a purse, seconds later another man ran past the window. Officer Lewallen said he thought the first man had just stolen a ladies purse, but Lisa’s first comment was, “the guys outfit did not go with that purse.” Ultimately, Officer Lewallen chased the guy down and caught him. While he was taking the man into custody Officer Lewallen said he could hear a loud flopping noise coming up behind him. When he turned around it was Lisa running up to assist him with her 5” wedge sandals. Officer Lewallen said seeing her run in those huge sandals was such a funny sight that he and the bad guy could not stop laughing. With all of this in mind, there is no doubt that Lisa was our department’s Top Fashion Cop.
In the subculture of law enforcement, there is no finer compliment than an officer referring to another officer as a “good street cop.” Lisa was a good street cop. She could remember faces, names, dates, and previous calls with absolute precision. She knew every bad guy in which ever beat she was assigned. She was known to search for wanted bad guys relentlessly until she located the one she had set her sights on. She had a way of talking people into going to jail or receiving a citation better than anyone I know. On Christmas Eve, 2004, Lisa was riding as a two-man unit with former Beaumont Police Officer Scott Moore. While they were patrolling the Lower Woods, Lisa recognized a house where she had made a call seven months prior. The call involved a mentally-ill man that had barricaded himself in the house and was threatening to commit suicide. Lisa remembered the man’s name and told Scott they should stop and check on the guy since it was Christmas Eve. When Lisa knocked on the door the same man that had threatened to commit suicide months earlier answered the door. Lisa called him by name, asked about his wellbeing, and wished him a Merry Christmas. Lisa was truly concerned about all of the citizens of Beaumont and was an avid animal lover. On one occasion she was dispatched to a traffic problem involving an animal in the roadway. Upon her arrival she discovered a small wounded cat lying in the middle of the roadway. She immediately picked it up, took it to a veterinarians office, and paid for all of the updated shots and medical bills.
Over the past few days several officers have told me that Lisa reminded them of the character Phoebe, off of the NBC hit sitcom Friends. Like the character Phoebe, Lisa was caring, loving, happy go lucky, had an innocent outlook on life, saw the best in people, and had a wonderful sense of humor. If my limited time with Lisa was this special, you can only imagine how many other lives she made better. In my heart I will always remember Lisa as the sister I always wanted. I am sure I speak for everyone that knew Lisa when I say that she was beautiful, brightened your day with her laugh, and will be dearly missed. Lisa, I love you and I already miss you terribly.
